Evening
I'm in again, thank you for the lists ladies.
Work done, busy and very wet
I had 7 at my wedding, I would not go to a wedding if I did not at least know the bride or the groom, I do not like the lists with money only on it, so I take a bottle of champers and a card and have done with it!

Evening all,
I agree re asking for money - I'm not keen on the idea. I actually think presents are going a bit far too! If OH and I were ever to get married I have told him it would just have to be me and the kids, and we wouldn't tell anyone. I don't like the fuss and expense, I'd rather have a really good holiday. We have been together 21 years, so I think we might have left it a bit too long!
As for flying today, done my list except for the paperwork frog. Does it count if I just throw it all on the fire?0 -
I agree with the cash to the value of a present notion, but I hate the idea of asking for cash.
Our wedding wasn't huge, mostly family and close friends. Because the two families were 200 miles apart I split my wedding list in 2 - my mum ran half and OH's mum ran the other. We hadn't lived together so the list was fairly basic. I remember a large argument with my mother because I didn't want a Doulton dinner service... I wanted everyday plates and stuff.
One of the cheapest things on my list was a Pyrex jug. I still have it after 27 years.:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Really chilled out day today. Dropped some flowers off to my cousin and an anniversary card to some friends. Had a nap this afternoon as felt so r bibs and just chilled tonight. Hubby had played minecraft with ds1 and ds2 has been playing and keeping himself amused.
Going I to school tomorrow so not sure what I will get done but house looks fairly ok at the mo. Famous last words!Grocery challenge-

Mr N and I will be in our 38th year together in November. If anyone asks me why we aren't married, I just say well you can't rush into these things..................Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Well I didn't do all my dailies as DD was supposed to wash up but is complaining that the water will "hurt" her arm where she burnt it on the pan cooking tea last night. Apparently she swore in her head and put it straight under running cold water until she couldn't feel her arm any more. Like mother like daughter, only I tend to swear like a trooper and out loud
:rotfl:
I spent the day sorting Christmas planner stuff. Got 3 frogs eaten, started munching a 4th but that requires more time and me being properly awake
I'm wishing it was back to school tomorrow as I want to get stuck in with the decorating etc, but DD doesn't go back until 7th. We're going to run errands instead and I keep remembering things I need to add to tomorrows list, like plastic wallets as I've just pinched the pack I bought DD for my planners.
Now it's time for me to head off to bed, with pen and paper in hand. Hopefully I can remember to get everything tomorrow so I can have Wednesday & Friday at home as I'm working Thursday. And I've just remembered something I was supposed to do tomorrow morning for work which I've forgotten about and requires lots of thinking. Adding it to my list. Night all :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Hi all x
Thanks to Natty and Bossy for the lists.
Managed to fly a little today just a couple of loads washed and dried and some general s/s but this place still looks like Steptoe's back yard.
Last shift of my notice tomorrow night, which means I will be back to 2 days off a week.
OH is off tomorrow so I'm hoping that between us we can knock this house into some sort of shape.
Love to everyone xI'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
I'm back, thanks for lists. I do appreciate them even if it looks as though I ignore them most of the time.
I'm going to be very off-piste this week as main items are:
- latest assessment to be written up by Thursday
- mornings are strictly pre-holiday gym
- tomorrow evening is flower arranging club meeting
- have picked up 2 bowls of windfall greengages today which need washing and freezing. Doubtless there will be more tomorrow
- Wed may have a student in the afternoon
- need to organise clothes for holiday on Fri. Poohbear I think it was you, where are you cruising? If you are starting from Corfu on Friday I'll wave to you............
- need to draft an email to Tesc0 on behalf of my mum, who was asked to log into her email in the store to confirm an order. 3 hrs later her email address was hacked, seemingly, from Devon (she lives in Dorset). Odd.
- then of course there is all the flying. Mr N is manfully making good the little bits of painting and paper after the new windows have been fitted. The day after I come back from hol with Mum, our friend from NZ is coming to stay so I need to have in mind what bits of the house are too much of a disgrace.
have a good week.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Evening all :hello:
We had been together for 15 years before we got married. Didn't really see the point of spending loads of money so it was just he and I, with my DS and his DD as witnesses. We then went for a meal and a few drinks and we had a lovely day.
Today I did the dailies and then made a meal plan for September. I started a Mr T order for Thursday and made a to-get list for the month, neither of which was much as have most in the freezers/cupboards atm.
I have started the accounts for the month, checked the bank accounts and done the monthly monies shuffle, as DH was paid early this month.
I took the rest of the meat off the chicken and made some stock with the carcass and some bottom of the fridge veggies. I just packed and froze as don't need atm. I also chopped up some peppers and onions, saut!ed and they are in the fridge ready to make a SC full of Bolognese the morrow.
I then bit the bullet and did ALL the ironing. It took me four hours (including a break for a cuppa) - go me :T
Apart from throw a chicken salad with new potatoes onto the plates for dinner - that was me bushed.
