Help Needed regarding APNR ltd appeal

Hi all,

I am new to all this so please excuse my utter stupidity here!

First of all I was issued with a parking charge notice from APNR Ltd of Preston on Tuesday. This was for £100 (£50 when paid within the first 14 days) as I 'trespassed in an area known to them'. Basically I was viewing a flat that I intended to rent, park in the flat car park during the viewing and came out to find a parking ticket had been slapped on my windscreen. I had been in there for approximately 20 mins and the car park had more empty spaces than occupied ones.

In an attempt to get the PCN overtuned I rushed into writing into what I thought would be a well worded and reasoned appeal letter and posted this off yesterday along with all my details...

After checking the forums today I have found that APNR Ltd are not a registered AOS member with the BPA or IPC and therefore wouldn't have been able to get any of my details in the first place.

My question is, what should I expect next? A few nasty scams to come my way? APNR Ltd to reply demanding action to take me to court if I refuse to pay is what I'm expecting. Do I still have grounds for appeal like I believe I do? Clearly I'm new and inexperienced with all this so ANY help would be very much appreciated.

i hope you haven't informed them of who you are/the driver is. one golden rule with this lot is never get in touch first.

I do not think it matters one iota. What is Trev going to do, take you to court? Just keep sending him very rude letters.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

As above, wait until you get something in the post - with any private ticket regardless of trade association affiliation or not this is what you need to do.
A lot of people will panic, and some will even pay at the yellow envelope of bullshyte that some of these companies attach to vehicles.
If they are not in an accredited trade association with the DVLA ( such as the BPA/IPC) they shouldn't be able to access your personal data the sticker on your vehicle should be the end of it, no data from the DVLA, no clue as to whose car it is.
As previously mentioned a lot of people will panic and pay up, or get in touch . if anyone pays up then they have effectively fallen victim to a scam.

As for your little run in, it will be a good idea to wait and see what, if anything comes next, and then you could post it up on here, logos, and all.

If you decide to act reasonably, and as you have apparently raised your head above the parapet you could tell them that you reject the charge, and you have no intention of paying them a penny, if they don't agree with your assessment then you should demand access to an independent body to challenge the charge, that meets and or exceeds the requirements of the Alternate Dispute resolution for Consumer disputes.
He will not be able to meet this.

How could you possibly be trespassing when you were invited onto the land as a prospective tenant?
Only the land owner can take you to court for trespass I cannot see Trev the Muppet taking you there.

" Basically I was viewing a flat that I intended to rent,"

umm , a flat that you WERE going to rent !!!

after this , would you rent a flat where low life unregulated scum operate?

you will get many many more tickets , as they photo your car , and quietly miss out your permit.

    the Company
have now started "self ticketing" , yes your next door neighbour will send a photo from his phone in return for £10!!!

this wants nipping in the bud.

contact the landlord/management who INVITED you to view , and TELL them to get it cancelled.

they will have to give statements for the county court , either saying you were invited or not.

lots more I could say , please do not ring / email or write to them again before getting help on here ,

as a point of interest , can you give us the location of this carpark , people do have contacts (especially with Preston trading standards)

don't forget to tell the landlord/agent who hired them , that they are no longer a member of a trade assoc , and in a lot of cases acting illegally , and that only they , not <the company> can bring a charge of trespass , which will entail them going to court.

Also if Trev and co ( thats the outfit that call themselves anpr) start sending you letters saying you owe this, that ,or the other come down on the management company like a ton of bricks, let them know in no uncertain terms that they are equally responsible for the actions of their agents, the whole ticketing system is completely unacceptable, and its even more so that they have a disreputable company that was even thrown out of its own trade association threatening people. And if you receive so much as a peep from ANPR you will be invoicing the management company for wasting your time ( at no more than £18 per hour or part thereof)

either the management Co do not know about ANPRs (the Company) history or <the company> lied to them (consumer credit assoc) like he did with Preston council OR they are stupid and on a back hander.

If the Company try's to go for trespass then the landowner/management co would have to do this , not him.

do you actually "want" to live in a place where either the management are gullible or in on the fiddle?
  • Thanks everyone for the replies. I am going to wait it out for a reply for now. Will post details as and when I get them. As for my next step I will attempt to get in contact with the landlord via the letting agency, to see what they have to say.

As for the car park itself, it was the carpark of Bovey Court in Warrington.
