Nothing to report really just trying to stick to my budget and keep plodding on. How much do you budget for your weekly shop? I'm struggling with that one x

I budget £50 and I can usually manage with this as I shop in Aldi lately. I love it and kids and OH prefer a lot of the food from there especially the meat.

Sometimes I may go a little over but its mainly thereabouts.
I make a shopping list before I go too.

It helps that I have food in 2 freezers and cupboards. My DD keeps telling me we have too much (old habits die hard) so I tend to just top up.

The laundry liquid/softener and toilet rolls save me approx £4/£5 as opposed to Asda. :D

When I make a shepherds pie, there's always too much so I freeze what's left. The same for chilli and bolognaise.

Previously I would have gone to Asda/Tesco with my CC in my purse and thought I need one of these and two of these. before I knew it I had done £100 odd and come home and discover the cupboards now had 5 packets of chocolate biscuits, 8 tins of beans,6 boxes of stuffing etc

Now I try to plan what we will have each day so I only buy what I need.

How much do you usually spend?

I try not to spend more than £50 a week but that's quite a lot as there's just the two of us. Need to get better at meal planning etc. I don't always go every week though because I can't be bothered I hate food shopping!

I too hate food shopping :(

I tend to get there just as they open so I am in,out and home again before most people even get up :D

I do sometimes order on line. This way you can change things in your basket so you stick to your budget.

  • I'm not a morning person so I would struggle with that! Yea I often do it online which is good to alter it but Aldi don't do online so I suppose I spend more at the likes of asda online xxx

Have you tried 'click and collect' That way you can still order on line and then pick it up. Therefore hopefully shopping within your budget.

If I shop in store I tend to get sidetracked by all of the deals etc that they conveniently place to make you but them
