    Hi Pops

Its another manic weekend here as usual. Just been shopping and now need to pop to the little shop to do my winning Lottery ticket. (I wish)

I started doing it from the beginning and started with set numbers. Now I'm scared to miss it in case my numbers come up :rotfl:

If I didn't put my numbers on one week and they came up, can you imagine

I also still do my mums set numbers ever since she passed away. just in case :)

Nothing exciting to report really. Just quite a bit of housework to tackle now :(

    Hows things at your end?

Aw that's sweet about the lottery for your mum. Well I'll keep my fingers crossed for your numbers to come up!! Have you thought about doing it online via direct debit? That way you don't have to remember to put them on?
I use to do this but then cancelled when I started budgeting luckily I had never memorised the numbers I had picked so would be none the wiser if they came up now (ignorance is bliss) I still pay £10 a month to a work lottery syndicate though I couldn't cope if they got the jackpot and o wasn't playing omg could you imagine being the only one left at work :(
    We can but dream!!!
I'm still really poorly with the flu so not doing much apart from resting this weekend.
Nothing really to report money wise at least being ill I've not spent much lol

    Hi all

Well I never won the Lottery. Maybe next week :p

Anyway I have been quite productive today. I have cut up another CC :T

I contacted the card provider through the on line chat explaining that I had 2 cards with them and one was sitting with zero balance and that it wasn't needed any more so would like to close it.

The person on the other end then informed me that I could merge my 2 cards together, giving a better limit so I could take advantage of the deals available on the other card.

I then transferred over some of the other card that is gaining interest. All this with no transfer fee as well :)

Last time I was transferring I made a bit of a mess of it but this time I checked and double checked that it was OK to do.

So another small chunk has gone to 0%.

I am still tackling this particular (the one I transferred some away from) card to get rid completely. As the balance comes down so does the interest. My aim is to keep overpaying when the statement comes in and also add little bits as and when I can. :D

    Still plodding along

Hi 12 month  well done cutting up another card and transferring another chunk to 0% will get you towards that debt free day even quicker :D
I have to put my hands up and say I'm completely lost with the interest on my cards from using balance transfers on various cards 0% deals now I'm confused when certain deals end and how much interest I'll be charged. I get lost!

I know I have a MBNA card that the 0% deal runs until March 2017 and I have a Barclay card that 0% deal runs out October this year but my tesco card I cannot work out what's what with that one! Eek!!

You seem to know all your stuff with the interest rates and sbowball calculator :) xx

    Hi Pops

I'm not totally 100% on top of it all, it just seems like i'm in control :rotfl:

I am tackling 3 cards and the one I am targeting is 6.9%. Its not drastic but at times has still incurred up to £59 interest a month
Thats why I need to get rid.

The other 2 are on 0% but end at different times. But like you I have to keep chipping away and just focus on one at a time otherwise my head cant take all the figures :p

Work has been manic this week so I havent had much time to update but hopefully will update diary tonight

You are doing so well and are so positive. Keep it up the challenges will keep you motivated as well :D

Sounds as though you have it all under control to me. I need to get myself on the snowbal calculator again.
I'm not overpaying any of mine at the moment they are all minimum payments which I know isn't good!!! But Untill I have some extra money to throw at it I will just have to continue making the minimum payments for now.
Hope you're having a nice weekend, the sun is shining here :)

    Hi Pops

At least you are paying them, that's the main thing eh.

My snowball is my best friend at the moment :D

Keep going as you are until you are able to overpay on anything . Keep up the positivity also. It just makes the journey that little bit easier.

As for me being in control, I have to literally keep track of my accounts every spare moment I get. It can get me down at times but it is what it is and I have to keep going.

Payday again in 9 days time (not that I'm counting) Its around that time that my statements usually start to come in.

Where I have transferred between cards I think one of my my statements may be a little later on in the month so I will have to hang onto the funds until then.

If all goes to plan I should be free of one in about 18 payments time. I don't like saying months it sounds too long :)

I hope you are well and enjoying your weekend.

  • Hi all and a happy Mothers Day to all of us mums out there :)

Well I have been cheeky again and contacted my card provider. I had 2 cards with them and one was at zero balance. I asked if I could merge the 2 together. It was sorted in minutes.

Card cut up and sitting nicely at the bottom of the bin :D

I did this with OHs aswell last week. It just gives me higher limits on the cards. (it makes sense in my head)

I am not using the cards but as I pay them down my available funds goes up. I will continue to keep snowballing them and my aim is to be able to get them onto 2 cards and then one as the 0% deals run out etc and then none :T

Its all very confusing I know but as the card I am targeting continues to reduce I aim to reduce the limit as I go along also.
