Budget's going well so far this month - budget to end of today is £122.45 and I'm at £78.80.

Have to confess that it's being partly helped by the fact my new job (3 shifts a week at the moment, hoping to get increased to 5) includes a free butty or salad for lunch which I haven't figured a way to account for yet (no way would I pay the £3 - £5 that customers are charged for them, and am currently lucky to know what shifts I'm working a week ahead so can't reduce my monthly budget before start of month!). If/when I get up to 5 shifts a week I'll have to consider reducing my budget by the few ££s a week included in my budget for lunches on those days.

Usually shop on a Wed but was busy so we went to A!di and then the green grocers today. Have spent £35.37 but got lots of fruit & veg - carrots, onions, tomatoes, bananas, celery, grapes, mushrooms, lettuce, sweetcorn, cabbage, sprouts, runner beans, satsumas, plums, ginger, nuts and a huge cauliflower (49p)
Have a lamb stew in the slow cooker for tonight. Used breast of lamb and cooked it yesterday but left over night to cool and then removed as much of the fat as possible and its now reheating with few added extras thrown in. Will have it with mashed potatoes and cabbage. Should be enough to freeze a portion or two as well.
Since increasing my protein intake (due to illness which prevents me from absorbing protein properly) I have felt a lot better so will continue with it regardless of the higher cost.
    MARCH £62.38/250
  • Evening all,

Had a shop delivered today and it was £90.61. Not too bad when there was a lot of bulk bits there. My freezer is fit to burst so it's only fresh bits I need for the rest of the month I think!

Doing so much better than last month thankfully.

    Total now is £242.28/£400 :-)
