Afternoon Everyone
Hope you are all well.
Quick update from me - spent £42.91 on a shop to last until next Saturday making my total this month £217.64 out of a budget of £300. I don't think I will reach the budget as I only have one more shop to do before 30th September, but it will be probably around £30- £40.:D
I think I will challenge myself to make the budget £270 in October and see how that goes. Have a good weekend all.:cool:Blitz that mortgage

Hello everyone
Seems to be some good deals and savvy buying going on this month.
Well I've been on another good shop today, all 'proper' purchases and no junk. Included a few more bits for winter stores so the supplies are good. This is only the 2nd supermarket shop this month, have been into local express for a few fresh bits and milk but kept to essentials only.
Total of £240.87 this month so far but really don't need much other than salad and milk (have started making bread again). May go over a little but next month will be mostly covered by existing supplies so not to worry.
Keep up the good work everyone.0 -
Spent more than I wanted today, blew/wasted £5 in Iceland last night, fancied some chocolate & a bottle of pop, hubby wanted chip shop as I had been in London all day, that was £4, fortunately I don't need much next week but it will be close.***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***0

I'm down to £30.26. I was awful last week. I don't really plan ahead and ended up buying lunch at work and giving the kids money for theirs. Lesson learnt, if I want savings I need to stop being so lazy. I've got most of the shopping in that I will need this week. Should be able to spend less than £10. I'm dropping our budget for next month. We need all the money we can get.November GC-£128.30/£200

Have meal planned for next week, got a small shopping list for Lidl tomorrow. Shouldn't be much more than £10 for the week. Only need snacks and a few bits to make up dinners as we've got all our meat and majority of veg already
I'll budget £15 this week and that leaves me £20 for next week
Have a freezer full though!I'm C, Mummy to DS 29/11/2010 and DD 02/11/2013

Lovely NSD for me today. Still have my £30 in my grocery purse and really no need to buy food. Because I was just buying willy nilly, I would end up buying things that were already in my freezers. So I went systematically through every freezer and did an inventory of everything in there. I then created a inventory list, with the item, quantity and location for 3 categories : Meat and Poultry, Fruit and Vegetables and Convenience Food. Do you know I discovered I had 33 individual boxes of McCain microwave chips!! So now those lists are stuck to the fridge. Every time I use something, I amend the inventory list. The aim is then to KNOW when something has run out. It also has the added benefit of a) me knowing where to FIND said item in one of my 5 freezers (yes its OK to laugh - I did not buy them mind you....) and b) helping me to plan meals as I know what is there in my freezer. I don't like planning meals week by week, but a quick look at what's there, helps me decide on what I feel like cooking. Win / win all round I think. I still need to do the same for the store cupboard....did I mention I bought one of the giant size Nutella jars on special only to find 2 smaller jars in the cupboard?? You couldn't make it up! Have a good week, everyone0

I haven't been shopping in the last week except for 89p on some rolls. All in all I'm doing okay with my budgeting and I'm hoping to reduce the budget next message month0

Thanks
