Online shop arrived and now magicked away into the cupboards - £77.42 spent but lots of food, so will be OK for the week. Also got enough dog food to last, so won't have pop out for that.
I think that takes my total to £133.27/£350, so £216.73 for the rest of September. I'm taking the boys to softplay this afternoon. Small gets a meal deal with his entry - do I include this in the grocery challenge? We'd be going anyway, but...?

nsd yesterday again!! yippee.although I must confess I cant wait to do a shop!!
  • £20.47 this morning on my weekly shop against a target of £28.00. Takes me to £45.20/£112.00 for the month so nicely ahead, but I think next week will be a bit more expensive to stock up the freezer, though I do have a £5 voucher to use.

I could have gone cheaper this morning, probably one too many treats, but I just can't say no to a large battenburg for £1! It's the best cake in the world! :D

Have just done my weekly shop which totalled £59.16. Total for the month now £174.73 of £300 budget so might not use it all as I got loads for my money this morning.:money:

I've been batch cooking during the past week and have chilli, pizza sauce, pizza dough and curry in the freezer to last a month and today I will make a big batch of corned beef hash. I have bought a nice pork shoulder joint for £3.84 so when I roast it tomorrow I suspect I will have enough for two more meals for the 3 of us - might do some extra veg when I do the roast and make a couple of pies for the freezer.

I work and travel about 50 hours a week, but I'm finally making the time to cook properly and starting to find it quite stress relieving.

    Happy shopping and cooking everyone.:D

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
Oh i have totally confused myself!
I had £100 in my wallet and paid £40 towards the new carpeting, then some towards pocket money, and spent approx £20 on food...so i THINK that i have £80 left, but not sure :(

I am so annoyed that my local branch has closed down. It's now a 30 min drive away to the nearest branch, so i don't want to have to go there.
But my card has a £250 a day withdrawal limit on it, so i cant take out everything i need on 1 day (which is what i normally do) and split it up into different 'envelopes'.
  • Monday included a quick shop in Co op for lunch items and a few essentials, I think I posted at the time and that was £8.43.

Today I did my first big shop of the month which came to £42.11 so a total of

    £50.54

WantToBeSE - I know just what you mean about banks closing down, the one we use has also gone and its a 20 min trip to the two nearest ones. I usually draw out £1000 pm for bills and food etc but now have to do it in 4 transactions and its a pain in the butt. Am thinking of changing where we bank but am thinking maybe they will go as well in time.

Spent £17.51 today but this included some things don't usually buy as we have an overnight guest on Monday who will only eat certain things!!! No dietary reason just plain fussy :(
Had a lovely lunch of left overs today - rice with onions, celery and some Cajun chicken bits in it then had a salad of tomatoes, radish and pomegranate with it. Odd but really nice and surprisingly filling healthy as well.
    MARCH £62.38/250
