Spent £42.34 yesterday at Mr. A and alldee. Haven't had much luck with NSD's due to small top up shops everyday. Hangs head in shame. We need to more organised than this. On the positive side, we are still within budget. £296 left for the month. That's £98.67 for the next three weeks or if I left £30 for emergency needs for this week, we'll have £88.67 groceries and household budget for the next three weeks. Doable? We are going down to London on the weekend of the 26th September and I am hoping to still live within that budget and not dip into the emergency fund. Fingers crossed."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150

I watch Eat Well For Less - try to put things into practice, make most meals from scratch, buy basics products if they are OK, meal plan, the lot! But still spend approx £120 a week for family of 4. I think the budget is busted by fruit juice, biscuits and cereal...favourite recipes are from Jack Monroe and the Hairy Bikers (e.g. cauli cheese with bacon and mushrooms). I'm tracking spending a bit more now as I'm aware I waste food every week, but its definitely the extras not the main meal ingredients that bump up the spending...GC Feb 2019 (to 10th) £397.07/£3000

I've managed 2 NSDs - or 3 if I didn't count giving DS2 money to pay school for the school dinner he had on the last day of last school year when his water bottle leaked on everything in his lunch box.
Just under £100 in Sains for a big shop on Saturday including the cat's food & litter for the month, and some bits for winter prep stores. I did make sure I looked at the prices per 100g for comparision.
Went into T3sco Express tonight with some letters to post for work, as my local post office is hidden away at the back of T Express. Found they had tinned fruit reduced to half price to clear with next Dec dates on it, so picked up 6 cans of apricots in juice. Got DS2 chips on the way home from Scouts (ok, we shared the chips).
With the little spends as well, out of my original £300, I've got £165 left for the month. I'm planning to go to the coop near DS2's music school on Saturday as I can get fruit & veg etc there without being tempted by lots of stuff that they can't fit into the shop.

Big fan of YS shopping here too. Although last time I went shopping they changed the rules a bit about YS goodies. We used to be able to pick anything with the day's date and the lady doing the stickers can put the last stickers on our good just before closing. Now they are not allowed to do that on things that are already in the customers' trolleys. We can't put them back either.. In terms of equal opportunities that's better, but not good if you want to bag lots of whoopsies. We just really have to be there at the right time. I might also try to go to other shops and find out about their ys schedule,
It's also note worthy how you showed your friends how it is done, it does make a big difference to the groceries shopping. There was this one time when I came out of the shop on Sunday afternoon just before closing, with 7 bags of groceries and paid only £9.88 (original price was £43)."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -

Sorry to hear about your freezer trouble. It's annoying when that happens especially when you are trying to save on your groceries budget and a lot of food goes off due to the freezer breakdown. Have you got an emergency fund to enable you to purchase a new freezer?"There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150
