  • Morning All

Just been and done my weekly shop. Spend of £58.80 between Lidl and Morrys bringing my total for the month to £104.57 out of my £300 budget.

Got loads of food in as I'm going to batch cook tomorrow all evening meals for the week and make some cheese scones and flapjacks to add to kids packed lunches.

Was very good last night - made pizzas instead of takeaway - own dough, sauce and toppings and the kids loved them more than expensive takeout so that's Friday's tea sorted from now on a ta very low cost. Also going to batch make the dough and pizza sauce and freeze as I will be working late next Friday.:D

    Have a lovely weekend everyone.:)

So far spent £61.11 out of my shopping menu and have £188.89 left for the rest of the month. Trying to stretch and use what we have.

Kids have had soup and some hot dog buns I found in the freezer and they loved it, need a mini shop for some fresh stuff for next week but that should come in quite small.

  • Feel like I'm on track so far :) £31.28 so far... Would be a lot less if my son wasn't so fussy tho...

Meals planned until Weds and shopping done up til then as well so no excuses to go to the shops unless I run out of milk.

  • Hi, I really need to join this challenge. Our income has dropped recently and its more important than ever that we stick to our budget.

There are four of us, two adults, two teenagers. OH has an outdoors/manual job and a big appetite, one teenager has crohns so struggles with big meals and tends to snack and the other teenager is just constantly hungry.

Add to that the fact that 4 out of 5 week nights at least one of us is playing sport so the only way I can make this work is by being really organised - and that's where I have slipped just lately.

I would love to get it down to £250 but I am going for £270 this month, which will be a challenge!

Hi all just totted the week's spends and we came to £68.00, that's £22 below our weekly budget of £90. I'm over the moon. The second week starts tomorrow. I'm still undecided whether to go YS shopping tomorrow or let things run out before going on the next shopping.

PS. I moved the excess £22 to a separate envelope to be deposited to the savings later.
