@karenccs67 I hope so too! Don't think they could have failed to save money last time :-/
Not such a good GC day today... accidentally went to T3sc0 after a long day of work and not much sleep, bought myself some chocs. On the plus side got left over curry for tomoz so shouldn't be tempted on Friday0 -
I got a piece of A4 paper and stuck it on the fridge with a magnet so I can write down everytime I spend and keep a running total.
Scary to see where the money goes so far...
Tuesday, 4 quid in town while getting DS2's haircut for back to school on 2 tins of nuttolene in the health food shop - if I open them, they can each do 2 meals for the 3 of us, though if DS1 opens them, I'll be lucky to get 2 servings out of each of them.
Wednesday, DS2 had to come to work with me & I'd promised him we'd have takeaway pizza one day over the hols, so £4.50 there. And £1.25 later at T. Express for bread for his packed lunches as I've not had a chance to bake bread.
But we had a lucky shop just now in T.Express - had to go in search of bus fare change as the bus company for school has changed at the last minute, rendering the bus pass I bought on Tuesday useless . Got 2 packs of rolls the boys like reduced to 4p for 4 rolls, 6 punnets of nectarines down to 8p each, a bag of salad down to 10p, and eggs were 6 for £2 or 2 boxes for £2. So we staggered home with 2 heavy carrier bags for £3.80 (also got bananas for DS2's smoothies).
Rolls in freezer, nectarines will be turned into fruit puree and frozen in small tubs for adding spoonfuls to porridge etc.0 -
Evening all :hello:The_Only_Girl wrote: »I didn't get to join in August due to a very challenging month - trying to keep heads above the water and pay off the remaining debt. We did it, managed to get it down to zero....
Small spends today but mounted up so £15.08 spent altogether. Mainly replacing stuff in the stock cupboard such as groundnut oil, as I emptied and cleaned out the roto-fryer and flour. Also a few things on offer atm, such as margarine and risotto rice, so I bought extra.
We had HM smoked salmon risotto for dinner tonight, made with a pack of smoked salmon 'pieces' from Morrys. I bought it a little while ago and froze and it was only £1.99, but there was plenty when separated and chopped up.
Hope you all have a frugal Friday

Morning. I think I'm doing ok this month but I have been bad and haven't been making myself pack up. I do get lunch cheaply at work but I'm still spending £1-£2 a day. Next week I'm going to be far more organised as I'm hoping to come in under budget.November GC-£128.30/£200
