I currently pay £99 for the ultimate umph bundle (Discounted price for 12 months) but some reason they put it as 9 months so goes up 8th march,
I got the letter that saying price will increase by £4.50
On the phone to them now (On hold) as can't afford the price rise of £139 a month that's too way too expensive...
 Happy with the servies
I don't wanna give up sky sports but not fussed about movies etc...
Will see what they offer me,
update they offered it to me for £95 for 18 months so happy customer yay1

Time for me to have that call.....another 4.4% rise on the horizon from virgin media here.
Zero customer-benefit justification given either.Cheeky beggers.....I find their approach very very irritating. Doesn’t matter how many years you spend with them, there is never ‘just’ an RPI inflationary increase Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!0 Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!0

Elderly parents (BB, TV and phone) contract ends in a couple of weeks and price jumping up to £46ish. They don't use much and TV is their main thing watching relatively few channels. So after couple of hours on the phone to VM spoke to CS and would/could not offer anything else. Passed on to redemptions who cut me off. Did the text conversation today with CS and then another dept and same thing wouldn't budge. Pain if they have to move as the TV is a bit of a lifeline.0

Do you live with them? If you put cancellation in they will hopefully call back, but will often use the home line. However when you put the cancellation in give them your phone number so if or when retentions ring they will speak to you. If they don’t watch many channels is it worth them just watching the normal freeview channels, or is there specific channels on virgin they watch but can’t get on freeview?mallard said:Elderly parents (BB, TV and phone) contract ends in a couple of weeks and price jumping up to £46ish. I have haggled before and am paying £75.20.It would have been over £120 otherwise. When the £4 per month rise letter arrived, I did a channel audit. Looked up all alternatives including sticks, but wanted to keep 108kbps broadband. Thought back at issues, drop outs, low internet. For the package I have, 'the old Full House' I was looking at paying £50 a month. When I finally got through to the Indian retention's, I started with a smile and "Hi, I thought I'd give you a ring because I'm not an inert customer and I'd heard that you were some very nice people. I'm Allan, whats your name. After confirming that we were who we were. I started the banter about the dropouts and problems. All with a smile and a giggle. After 20 minutes and some "discussions with the supervisor" we agreed on £54 a month. £302 pa reduction. (THANKS MARTIN) I didn't try pushing to get back to English retention's. Maybe next time.I noticed when getting through, before even getting in the queue, there was a £4 per month reduction by pressing button 1. I think I'll leave it a couple of months, then get back through to there and press button 1. See what happens. If successful, leave it a few more months and try again. Nothing ventured, Eh! When they are paying me £5 a month, I'll draw stumps.0

Can I seek some advice please? I'm on the following package at the moment. Maxit TV (tivo box), including BT sport. Also have sky sports ( non HD). 200mb BB, telephone with call anytime package. Signed up last June for 12 months, just before they went back to 18 month contracts. When the price rise was announced and I got email stating £4.50 increase, I called up to "cancel/ renegotiate ". However I was told price rise wouldn't be applied until end of my contract in June. I did double check and was assured that was the case. I tried for a new deal up was offered a silly ( high) price. So nothing doing. So I'm holding tight till June. However every now and then I get a phone call telling me what a loyal customer I've been and offering me a new "discounted" deal. Cut long story short....apparently i have £37 of discounts on my package....currently paying £79 monthly. From June supposedly up to 116, or 121 with the additional price rise.
The "deal" i was offered was same package for tv and phone, but upgrade BB to 350 and also swap tivo for v6 box ( no charge). After being on hold, I was offered 18 month contract from now at 94 per month. So 15 extra for next five months!!
I said it was too much...and asked for better...suggested a max of 85. Put on hold again...came back....same price but chucked in a "free" sim card with unlimited mini n texts and 5mb data.
I'm guessing this loyalty dept isn't the same as retentions, so not convinced this is the lowest price I can get....but would be helpful to know whether anyone has similar package and what price I should be expecting.
 Thanks.

Got the increase notification from Virgin, £83 which I already had decided was too much, up to £87. Rang them yesterday - after speaking to Sky - and got it down to £60. Btw they offered me £67 at first so don’t accept their first figure. Quite pleased with that 😊.0

No not same department you have to put cancellation in. I have similar package to you without call anytime and with sports hd and pay £61, someone else on here got it for £59 not sure if sports was hd though. You have to put cancellation in and wait for outbound retentions to call you back. You have 30 days to change your mind on the cancellation should they not ring you. Make sure your marketing settings in your my virgin media allow them to contact youbarafear799 said:Can I seek some advice please? I'm on the following package at the moment. Thanks. I thought I did well on the 78. I really must try harder!! I'll need to check up whether I definitely won't get the price rise or else I'll need to wait till June.PZ19 said:
