Pigpen good luck with the PIP. We did better than we expected with DS. And as for education, well my lad is supposed to be in education until he is 18 but he hasnt actually done any school work since he was 11 (on psychologists advice). At the moment the best anyone can come up with is a college course 25 miles away which just isn't going to happen. We are trying to find him more voluntary work which will benefit him far more than exams at the moment.

Oh and I would stick with the cot for a bit longer personally.

Its probably too late but have a lovely holiday Bossy. Roll on lunchtime tomorrow when I am finished for 5 days. Been on my own at work this week and have definitely earned my salary!

Turkey, leek and cheese flan worked out just fine, so *phew* on the pastry front.

You have every right to be very proud of your DD, Valli. I've never regretted going to a funeral although a couple have been very, very difficult. I have seriously regretted not going to one because of a prior commitment and I still can't think how I could have balanced that particular occasion. I can understand anyone not wanting to go to one, but none of the ones I have ever attended have been grim; just terribly sad or a joyous celebration.
    Better is good enough.

  • Evening all,

Just checking to report: nowt done.

Been for a lovely day out with friends and children in Leeds, came home, made tea, gave blood, walked dog. That's it. Just half-heartedly wiped a bit of the kitchen worktop and put wm on. Now reading book I bought myself. House is pit.

Oh well, will sort it tomorrow. Chill out vibes to all because that's what I'm doing x

Thanks for your comments Honey Bear and Lamewolf. They are hard to attend but I know it means so much to the family that people are there to support them.

I have done the dining room (kids out; NDNs away so the vacuum can't bother anyone) while watching Derek Jacobi on WDYTYA. Now the other surname that came up a lot, Bastide, was the surname of someone I was at school with...so I'm all intrigued, now, as to whether she too was of Hugenot (sp) descent.
