CY hope today's treatment goes well and you start feeling a bit better.

frizzle, Dh surprised me when we did books he is a hoarder, but once I got them off the shelf and piled up I asked him to pass them back to me and decide if he actually needed each one. He got rid of more than I thought he would doing it this way. He's still got loads he tends to read war hammer books for pleasure but also has loads of fitness and excercise type books that he keeps referring back to. I don't mind him having/keeping lots as long as they are being used.
I've now started finding it easier to let my read paperback books go, I used to keep them all but last year I read 35 and this year I'm already on 40 so it seems rediculous to cram the shelves with books that have been read and I won't realistically read again as the are so many other great books out there. I have got some that are 'keepers' so they stay.

Home alone now as Ds2 has gone off to school, by the time 8am came he actually seemed a bit more entuistasic about it.

    Morning all .
 to CY - thinking of you today, as always.

Excitement/shock/horror at my vol job yesterday: late on the previous afternoon a length of early 19th century plasterwork coving had fallen down in the former dining room, now modern art gallery, narrowly missing the volunteer working in there - fortunately no visitors were in there at the time and nobody was hurt, but the main attraction of the house (at least as far as I'm concerned) is closed for the foreseeable future, until the buildings experts have checked the condition of the rest and done the necessary repairs.

Friends came round yesterday evening as planned. We had a very nice meal, except that my SW pavlova (half sugar, half sweetener) decided to flop  so we ended up with bought meringue nests instead :o

DH is out playing trains all day, so I am home alone and can get on with my stuff uninterrupted:
    - S&S bathroom once I've had my shower
    - strip our bed and wash bedding, hoping I can hang it out to dry (showers forecast throughout the day 1/2 mile south-east of us, no showers 1/2 mile north-west :rotfl: )
    - make some phonecalls
    - do my vol job expenses for July/Aug
    - charity paperwork
    - mow the lawn (between showers?), digging out dandelions first, so that I can put down lawn weedkiller at the weekend with a reasonable expectation that as it's a Bank Holiday there will be rain to water it in within 24 hours
    - more boxes, boxes, boxes....
    - sausage, chips and salad for tea, easy nom-nom :p

Thanks for sticks offered yesterday/ the evening before. BD is now chasing them a good long way off. No doubt he'll bring them back some time, as he always does, but for now he's not causing me any misery.

Hope everyone has a good day. (((Hugs))) and spoons all round, as needed x

  • Morning flyfriends x

Had a lovely surprise yesterday came home from work OH, DS2 and DD had cleaned and tidied up the LR and Scullery for me. It was totally clatty but I've just not had time.
This morning had an email from DS1's car insurance company he's got a black box and he's about to go over his miles. Phoned them so he needs to pay £300 up front and his DD goes up by £286 a month a total of £2500 extra. Cue many sweary words from me when I got off the phone. He's panicking so I've told him I will give him half his DD every month.

Suppose I better get something done and work my rage out. Bathroom I think.HHC at 12 if anyone fancies keeping me company bring ear plugs the air will be blue.

  • Back from my HHC bathroom cleaned, I'm now dressed, I've took my meds, located a bit of paperwork that DS1 needed and I now have a banana and tea.
Need to put the WM on and nip to the shop. Just waiting for DS2 to arrive home from college as I'm not sure if he has his key.
