Been offered 75% off sky TVs and £100 credit been with out sky 10 months. I want sky q 2 bt box with mini box for other room and unlimited fibre but online chat is difficult as she said she could do the TVs discount but sky q and broadband would have to be done separately. Am thinking about just getting sky TVs full package and bb with bt as they are offering unlimited fibre 52mb with free bt sport basic TVs and free amc for £29.99 a month would it be ok to have bt bb,TV and free bt sport and the sky package in another room?0

Bit gutted by Sky to be honest.
For past few years I have phoned up to cancel and they usually give me a package around about £70pm.
Now my full price package is £105 and I have phoned a few times to cancel and they have offered around £70-80pm each time.
Problem is virgin are offering same thing for £72pm plus i get btsport with it but Sky don't seem to want to budge.
Tried one last time on live chat today but his offer was higher than ones before so I just cancelled... Now got 31 days to sort out something better with virgin!
Been with them nearly 8 years so expected more of them to be honest. How do I get them to offer me one of these 60% pre-cancellation deals?!0 -

Are you tv only or do you also have phone/b'band with them?
I can only answer for tv only. In my experience the way to get a good offer is to go ahead and give them 31 days notice to cancel. Then hold your nerve.
Usually, the closer it gets to switch off day, the better the offers get. Mine's not switched off yet and they've offered 60% off. Also had a missed call from Sky this morning.
Make sure you have given permission for Sky to contact you via email/phone and post in your My Sky settings. Check My Sky for offers regularly and interactive on your tv.
I wait until after it's gone off and they either contact me with a good offer, or like last year I think it was, I went on Live Chat. Got a great deal and looking for similar this time round.
Different process if you also have phone/broadband, in that case disregard my reply.0 -
Yes I have phone and broadband too... is that a bad thing? I thought that would put me in a better position?!0

Also, as the phone service is fine and the broadband 'free' , one would only be able to get out of free broadband and Sky won't provide just broadband anymore. I will be returning though, as I was very pleased with their service.0 -
Just given my 31 days notice with Sky as all they could offer me was free movies for 12 months. The advisor told me that now I'm in the 'cancellation period' I cannot be offered or accept any other deals.
Is this true or is he feeding me a line? Looking for a slightly better offer and then I'd be happy to stay. Will I not be offered one now?0 -

He was just feeding you a line. Last year in my cancellation period I was given 60% off and £50 credit. This year I'm in my cancellation period (goes off Sunday) and I've already got 60% off showing on my sky services on the tv. Or 50% showing on my account online. Not sure why it's different offers but basically in your cancellation period these are the minimum offers you will get. If you don't hear from them, you can always ring and ask what deals they have. I've done this in the past with success too.0 -

If you have BB/phone line you only have 14 days before that cuts off, assuming you cancelled that too. In which case if you search my previous posts I explain what I did in detail. But basically negotiate them separately. You will probably get free line rental if you push.
As for tv just wait. Keep checking your emails, my account on line and your service/interactive on tv. My pre cancellation 60% deal is showing on my tv. or if you want to negotiate this first, just contact sky via online chat and ask for their best deal. Then tell them you want 60%.
Like I said check my other post it has more info.0 -
Thanks to your legible lucid and helpful site I phoned Sky and while the converstion went around the bowl quite a number of times I have reduced my monthly payment from £80 to £50. This is a 10 month reduction but I was advised to diarise it and call again in ten months. As a pensioner this saving of £360 per annum was most welcome, and all thanks to you and your site. I have passed the d!tails on to all my friends.0
