Thank you for replying. Would you put a cancellation in after the first call? or wait if you need to call them a few times. Would I have to make a separate call about the phone/broadband?

Will check Virgin and Now TV prices, thanks

I would tell them you want to cancel at the earliest opportunity. The Sky retentions/cancellation team seem to be able to sort out TV and broadband deals so no need for a separate call. Let us know how you get on.
  • Thank you, I hate having to do stuff like this and am not very good at it!
  • I have started the cancellation process, Tuesday evening, if I am likely to receive any further discounts on what has been put on the table will it appear when I log into my Sky account under offer & upgrades, or will it come via post / email or phone call?

I would expect a phone call possibly close to the cancellation date or shortly after. I've never had a letter or email till after it has been turned off.

I'm in my cancellation period but I've just renewed using online chat.

    Entertainment £11 a month (on a 12 month contract)
    + HD £1 a month
+ Box Sets £1 a month (can cancel this anytime with 31 days notice)
    + £10 admin fee

Moved my direct debit to Halifax so I should hopefully get £50 cashback from there as well after 2 months of direct debits are paid. Taking that into account I will be paying £9.67 a month. I'm not sure if I would have got a better deal after Sky had switched off so I took them up on this. It was a much better offer than over the phone.
  • Thats a really good offer, as you were in your cancellation period could I ask how you started the online chat with them? I`m rubbish at this sort of stuff. Thanks
  • Just renewed my package for £30 full price £58
    Entertainment £17
    Kids £1
    Hd £1
    Box sets £1
    Movies £10
    For 18 months

Online chat should be able to start from here:

    https://contactus.sky.com/uk/sky-tv/cancel-sky-tv

Tell them you want to cancel and see what they offer.

Got my deal sorted after a bit of messing about. Used chat to cancel initially but they couldn't access my account because there was an outstanding high level complaint!
After a couple of phone conversations, it turns out that the complaint I'd made last year after the Sky Sports charging fiascos, was still open on their system, even tho' I had accepted a resolution last October.
They passed me on to Retentions - very surprised to be able to agree virtually the same price as this year - £34 per month, for everything bar Cinema, all in HD for the full 18 months which I'm happy to be tied to.
