Just off chat with sky re coming back with 60% of tv, box sets, cinema, 12 months with £25 credit same deal as last year but got £75 credit then.

Has anyone received more credit this year?

    Thanks

Much better than my offer, put in our cancellation a couple weeks ago the maximum ive been offered so far is 40% off and £25 credit. Your sky still on or switched off now?
  • I tried to haggle Sky down on my broadband and Sky talk package and failed despite the fact I quoted to them a deal which was the same but £20 less a month TalkTalk Any advice as TalkTalk deal closes on 30 November and I am happy with Sky service just not happy with the price

Without knowing the history of your account it's impossible to know how your "standard" price is £35.25. However, it does not appear to be the standard price for new customers, or existing customers that upgrade; and £22.80 is an exact percentage (40%) of the £38 price that is quoted in the terms & conditions.

In any event, individuals know what they are/were paying, so can judge the discounts for themselves. I always do a percentage calculation of offers from Sky, to include account credits.

Likewise, I'd calculate the effect of an admin fee, because it's designed to reduce the headline discount, as you've illustrated. A £10 admin fee can knock several percent off the headline offer!

I've just finished a 75% off offer that was £14,full price £56 (£38 boxed sets and £18 cinema) on HD+.

And I thought I was doing well to get 50% off 12 months ago. Mind you I was a brand new Sky customer and got £120 cash back through Quidco as well.

I answered a call from Sky this afternoon after having 5/6 missed calls this but i could not answer them as at work.
So the call today sounded like the Sky CS reps/workers were having an early Xmas workd do in the pub as all through the chat i heard people laughing/joking loudly in the background and not like other chats i have had in the past and the caller was very hard to understand and had to keep asking him to repeat things.
He offered me the "best deal i will ever get from Sky" of £50 pm and £50 credit on 12 or 18 month rolling contract plus £12 multiscreen.
Variety, sports pack and cinema used to cost me £68 plus £12 multi. I was on 60% discount so £27.20 plus £12 is £39.20.
I asked what % discount it was and he said 50% as without multi it would be £38. £68 minus 50% is £34 so the discount offered would be about 45%. He said that is what the screen is showing.
I asked if i could have anymore discount or credit and was told "best offer" is that.
I asked about VIP as i am showing as the lowest 1-3 year but he said no i am on gold 3-8 which i know is wrong as i have been a Sky tv and/or phone customer for over 15 years but he said it is only showing as less than 8.
I declined his "50%" offer and i think he sounded p****d off that i did not take the offer.
I have only had mobile calls from Sky and no email or letters from them but they are listed as contact options.

Are you sure you've not had any breaks as even a day shutdown would reset the clock.

I am 99% sure without having all the years of bank statement to check though.
The rep said i was Gold as i had been with Sky fo 3 years and 11 days.
I have always had Sky tv and i have had Sky phone/broadband for a few years.
I was with BT phone for 12 months after switching from Sky but that was 5 years ago but i still had tv and never switched off.
Last year October it went off for 1 day but i was still a phone/fibre customer.
I had a chat to Sky in August about this and one rep told me VIP was only for tv and as i went off for 1 day the clock resets.
The VIP offers are not great and will not make any difference to me.
  • Did this last year need to do it again. Is there a special web chat to contact?

Last year I managed to get 60% off and £50 credit as was paying £22.60 for Box sets + Movies (not on Sky Q). Reduced period was finishing in a couple of weeks so I rang to cancel my tv subscription.

1st offer was 30% off box sets and £10/month for movies. Rejected! £32+

    Told them to cancel.

Sky interactive started show 30% off tv package.

Went into notice period and contacted them via come back to sky web chat.
(Google "come back to sky" and follow ad link)

1st offer 40% off entire tv package with 18 month contract. Rejected!
2nd offer 40% off plus £25 credit with 18 month contract. Rejected
3rd offer 50% off entire tv package + £25 credit with 18 month contract.

Told them 18 months too long.

    Agreed to 12 month contract.

Then he said there was £10 admin fee. I said, "Hold on a minute! You want to give me £25 then take £10 back as admin fee? Forget it!!!!"

    Admin fee then removed.

Really tried to push for more but the rep said that was all he could give this time.

So agreed at 50% off entire tv package (box sets + movies) + £25 credit on 12 month contract for £28/month.
