    £22.80 is a 40% discount on Box sets £38.

    Not if they're on HD+, it's £35.25 full price.

I have been offered £22.80 per month to renew my Box Sets package, 18 months and £10 admin fee. Does this seem a good deal? I am not sure i tried hard enough to not pay the admin fee.

I did have broadband and calls was paying too much for the whole package. They were not offering a very good deal for broadband/line rental so will be cancelling that and going with another provider.

I've just taken a 50% offer on Boxsets for an 18 month rolling monthly contract which works out at £17.62 a month plus a £25 credit. (£16.23 equivalent, yours works out at £23.35 incl. 'admin fee')

Everybody should absolutely refuse to pay the 'admin fee' regardless.

I'm in the same boat regarding BB/LR and will be paying full ADSL price shortly until I move. Hopefully there'll be some decent deals by then.

BTW Sky have an effective price of £15.50 for ADSL at the moment for new customers, I'd use that and insist on a £50 credit and the £18 a month price.

The current cost is listed as £38 per month for Sky+ Box customers and Sky Q.

Can you clarify the circumstances in which the cost is £35.25? Are you referring to a legacy pack?

It's from my account, not a legacy product as far as I'm aware.

    Hey all!

Currently paying around £130 per month for Sky Q, full package, broadband & Sky Talk Line Rental. Just curious if this seems too much or if its worth giving them a call? Been with them 15 years & currently out of contract.

On another note, on my itemised call charges I have 6 calls to the Alton Towers helpline & it has cost me £9.15! That's scandalous!!

"Just curious if this seems too much", is that a rhetorical question???

If you're out of contract on the Q system then you must have only very recently finished whatever deal you were on, what were you paying?

As regards the Alton Towers helpline I'd suggest stop calling them.

Ha! Thank you for your advice re: Alton Towers. I often just call them when I don't need any help resolving any bookings I have with them.

My contract with Sky Q ended in July 2017. The price I am paying now is the price I paid throughout the whole contract with them. I just mentioned that I was out of contract meaning that I can leave them if I wanted to.

I guess I was just wondering if anyone had a similar package & was paying the same price or similar or if I am paying over the odds.

Without knowing the history of your account it's impossible to know how your "standard" price is £35.25. However, it does not appear to be the standard price for new customers, or existing customers that upgrade; and £22.80 is an exact percentage (40%) of the £38 price that is quoted in the terms & conditions.

In any event, individuals know what they are/were paying, so can judge the discounts for themselves. I always do a percentage calculation of offers from Sky, to include account credits.

Likewise, I'd calculate the effect of an admin fee, because it's designed to reduce the headline discount, as you've illustrated. A £10 admin fee can knock several percent off the headline offer!

You've been paying full price (£130 a month) for Sky Q and the rest for 12(?) months? Wow, I have to ask why?

Anyone paying full whack for Sky/Virgin/BT etc are paying over the odds. I think for the TV package 40% seems the maximum discount for the Q system, you'd have to see what your BB is going for.

    Thanks

When we signed up to Sky Q they discounted the install & the boxes etc so we thought we were getting an okay deal. Had my Mother in Law moving in so really needed extra boxes in different rooms (for my sanity) it was just the best they would offer so I took it. Seeing BT's Black Friday offers has made me think that moving to them wouldn't be so bad, especially if it can save £60 per month.

    Thank you for your help.
