Motorbiker punched off my wing mirror deliberately - What can I do?

It could have been worse, you could have been posting a thread about an impending personal injury claim when the motorcyclist hit your car because you didn't see him approach.0

Hi,
Short story is that I was turning right in my car and a motorcyclist came round the corner as I was turning. He was obviously going too fast and had to break heavily. He then followed me, stop next to my car and deliberately punched off my car wing mirror and drove off.
I managed to get a photo of him and the bikes licence plate. Also a pedestrian witness gave me their details and said they would be a witness for the police if needed. I then took photos of the damage he caused (the wing mirror is hanging off and the electronics in it do not work any more).
I've reported the crime and told my insurance company.
Any ideas of what's the best thing to do with this? What's the odds of getting the money back for the costs of the repair?
Your insurance premiums however will increase the next time you renew. I'd be grateful if you could post by how much they increase by. You can't claim for the increased cost of your premiums.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Evidently you should be fine for witnesses OP given all the above that saw it blow by blow that you cut up the motorbike by turning right.
Jeez, give them the benefit of the doubt!Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

What I don't understand with OPs description, is if it were a car, what would have happened then?
Oh and if it were on a bend, the biker likely wouldn't have been able to stop without coming off, so the corner thing I highly doubt anyway.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Thanks for informing the insurance company.
Next time you should immediately drive to somewhere you know there are cameras.0 -
Was the motorcyclist one of those that overtake a car while it is indicating to turn right? If so, then the motorcyclist deserves to be knocked off.0

Short story is that I was turning right in my car and a motorcyclist came round the corner as I was turning. He was obviously going too fast and had to break heavily. He then followed me, stop next to my car and deliberately punched off my car wing mirror and drove off...
So what's the other side of the story. Were you indicating? Were you stopped in a strange place?0 -
To all those jumping to the bikers defence... Op said the biker appeared from around the corner after she started turning.
Maybe you can explain to us all then how op should make this turn if it's clearly stupid to do so when traffic is clear?0 -
Oh wait it seems he was coming from behind.... In which case nearly rear ended you. What a t055er.
If this was the other way round and a bike turning right the car driver would get a right ear bashing right now. I'm struggling to understand how it is op is taking it now an idiot on two wheels was driving too fast around a blind corner and nearly hit her0 -

you have omitted to state what the speed limit was on that road ,
