I signed up for price alerts and was patiently waiting to be reminded that v.17 was available. I just had the email referring to v.17 yesterday and when I went on the website it only showed v.18.

Does this mean i missed out on the better offer? If so why wasn't i sent the price alert when v.17 was out?

Hi cambermam and sorry for the confusion.

Price Alerts have been going out in batches over recent weeks. Don't worry, I can reassure you that for all eligible customers in all regions and for all usage, version 18 is universally cheaper than version 17. You definitely haven't missed out.

Details of the new tariff are available on our website and the independent comparison sites.

Hope this puts your mind at ease.

V18 is cheaper than V17 - or at least it is for me by about £100

    Hi ctdctd

As above in my reply to cambermam, I can definitely confirm that version 18 of our new Fixed 1 Year tariff is cheaper than version 17. This is for all eligible customers in all regions and for all usage. Details are on our website and on the independent comparison sites.

If you wish, you can also sign up for 'Price Alerts.' Customers on our Fixed Price deals who sign up for this service are emailed if a new version of the tariff becomes available.

Hope this is of interest ctdctd.

I switched last week to V17, and have just switched again to V18, which is much cheaper than V17.

V17 had no exit charges, and v18 has exit charges of £30 per fuel.

Glad you switched okay Arthurian. As above, version 18 of our new Fixed 1 Year tariff is cheaper than version 17. This is for all eligible customers in all regions and for all usage.

Totally understand about the exit fees. These apply if changing supplier before the renewal window (open 49 calendar days before the tariff ends until 20 days after). There's no charge for moving between different E.ON tariffs. Details are on our website and the independent comparison sites.

If you haven't already, you can sign up for 'Price Alerts.' Customers on our Fixed Price deals who sign up for this service are emailed if a new version of the tariff becomes available. You can opt in online or by phoning us.

Hope this is of interest Arthurian.

I initiated a switch to a new supplier from Eon last week but V18 is same price so I'd like to stay. How do I stop the switch happening please? Does anyone know?

Also, under Eon price guarantee, is there an exit fee on V18 if transferring to another EoN tariff please?
    Thanks

P.S. I've cancelled my switch with my potential new supplier but they say that it will be about 5 working days before it is completely stopped. EoN have told me they can't do anything until I have cancelled, which I now have, but I am in limbo. I have just got to hope that EoN keep v18 open or I've wasted my time and will have to start again. Is this correct?

    Hi sunflowerseeds

I can't speak for the other supplier but for us, if you told us you had changed your mind about a switch within the 14 calendar day cooling off period, we would cancel the transfer immediately. It would be different if outside of this period as the transfer would've gone too far and you would need to re-apply.

Have you tried switching to version 18 online? It could be you can't at the moment as the switch might have temporarily suspended your online account. If this is the case, I'd talk to our specialist sales team to see if they can override from our end. We don't have an end date for version 18 at the moment.

There's a £30 per fuel exit fee on our new Fixed 1 Year (version 18) tariff but this only applies if changing supplier before the renewal window (open 49 calendar days before the tariff ends until 20 days after). There's no charge for moving between different E.ON tariffs.

    Hope this helps sunflowerseeds.

Just switched an account I look after to v18, having arranged a switch to v17 (from v15) a week ago. No problem rearranging it over the phone (apart from being on hold for 20 minutes). Confirmed that the exit fee will not apply if E.On announce an even cheaper tariff and you want to switch to that. It only applies if you switch away from E.On.
Customer is very happy with E.On and their smart meters anyway.

Sorry victor, replied before I saw this post. That'll teach me to post without refreshing first. Sorry also for the long wait on the phone. Our lines have been extra busy today following this morning's announcement. This, despite additional advisors being drafted in.

Hope you're sorted okay and that I've answered your questions in post 121 above. If not, let me know. Happy to help further.

    Malc

PS/ Glad our Smart Meters have gone down well with your friend.

I never thought I'd switch electricity tariff twice in the the space of a week, but here I am. OK, so it's postdated to the end of Feb so it doesn't really count. It took literally 1 minute to switch via the website.

For me, the E7 night unit prices of v15 are still cheaper, but the day prices of v18 are lower. So I'm still switching at the end of February to take advantage of the lower heating costs this winter.

Thanks Malc for your helpful replies. I'm also impressed how clear the wording is on the website. It's quite clear than the £30 penalty only applies "if you leave EON", so if you launch v19 next week, no worries!

v18 is also right up near the top of cheaper suppliers on uSwitch for me too, which is nice to see. Those above it are of dubious reputation too, so all looks good. Roll on an even cheaper v19! :)

E.On reps on here, particularly Malc, have always been helpful, which is yet another reason to stick with them.

As promised, just a quick post to let you know that our Fixed 1 Year tariff (version 17) has ended. As of today, it's been replaced with a new tariff, version 18. Full details are on our website. Again, as of yet, I don't have an end date for this new tariff.

All those who've signed up to our online 'Price Alerts' service will be receiving an email to let them know about the new tariff. It'll also start to appear on bills, statements and Annual Summaries.

    Hope this is of interest.

I would probably have stayed with Eon had V18 been their initial proposal as a new tariff. Instead we had V16(25% higher!) and then V17(several percent higher and with at least 6 competitors cheaper)) and only now, presumably after mass switching, have Eon offered a realistic tariff. It reeks of greed and complacency.

I'm confused, I got an email the other day see below.
But when I log in now or do a "let us find you our best rate" , there is no listing of this E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v17 so I cannot check the details nor switch to this rate if I wanted to?
You signed up to our Price Alert service so we wanted to let you know about our new tariff E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v17.

E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v17 has lower unit rates than any of the tariffs offered in the renewal quote we recently sent you, plus there's no exit fee.

It's v18 now, which is better...
