E.ON price hike!

I've just switched over from V15 to V17. Looking at online comparison sites it's about £50 more than the cheapest one that comes up, but taking into account the cheap exit fees, dual fuel discount and Tesco points that I get through the rewards points (Which I can then quadruple in value with Tesco Boost), I think this is a good tarrif to be on.:j Comping on & off since 31/08/12 :beer:I comp for fun... and to kill the boredom!0

Glad you're staying with us kevbev. Just a quick heads up, there's no exit fees at all with our new Fixed 1 Year (version 17) and Fixed 2 Year (version 7) tariffs. In fact, none of the tariffs we currently have available have exit fees. They do still apply, though, on a lot of our older tariffs that've been withdrawn from sale but still have a time to run.
Don't know if you've already done this but, by signing up for 'Price Alerts', we'll let you know if any new versions of your tariff become available in the future.
Hope this is of interest kevbev.

Hi beardiedog
You're right, it's a fair way down. Glad the forward switching option has been useful for you too. As above, it's a good way to make sure you stay on the better prices for as long as possible without missing out on the new tariff. I don't know when this offer will be pulled but will update this thread as soon as I do.Hi jrawle
Glad you're okay with the new tariff. We, too, haven't been advised of an end date for this offer yet. I'll update this thread as soon as I know what this is.
Also pleased you found the option to forward switch useful. This will make sure you stay on version 15 prices right up to the end. Sorry, though, you struggled to see the unit prices when you moved tariff online. During the switch, they're available by choosing 'Review' and then 'Tariff Information Label.' We'll send a letter confirming the details too.Hi beardiedog.
Glad you're able to see the new tariff at last and sorry for the delay. This tariff will only be available for a limited time but, as of yet, we've not been told an end date. Once known, this will be on the website. I'll also update this thread with the information.
Morning All
As promised, just a quick post to let you know that our Fixed 1 Year tariff (version 17) has ended. As of today, it's been replaced with a new tariff, version 18. Full details are on our website. Again, as of yet, I don't have an end date for this new tariff.
All those who've signed up to our online 'Price Alerts' service will be receiving an email to let them know about the new tariff. It'll also start to appear on bills, statements and Annual Summaries.
Hope this is of interest.

I've just switched someone from their about to end v15 onto v17 and am wondering whether or not to switch again to v18. Presumably E.On would do that without any penalty. When would the v18 start though? The sooner the better, as it's less than the old v15. Got to consider the exit penalty though, should prices fall further and E.On introduce an even cheaper tariff...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I signed up for price alerts and was patiently waiting to be reminded that v.17 was available. I just had the email referring to v.17 yesterday and when I went on the website it only showed v.18.
Does this mean i missed out on the better offer? If so why wasn't i sent the price alert when v.17 was out?Internet earnings:
Swagbucks - £748
InstaGC -£73
Nielsen Mobile - £70
Mobile Trends - £19.50
iPoll - £150 -

V18 is cheaper than V17 - or at least it is for me by about £100 :beer:Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -
I switched last week to V17, and have just switched again to V18, which is much cheaper than V17.
V17 had no exit charges, and v18 has exit charges of £30 per fuel.0 -
I initiated a switch to a new supplier from Eon last week but V18 is same price so I'd like to stay. How do I stop the switch happening please? Does anyone know?
Also, under Eon price guarantee, is there an exit fee on V18 if transferring to another EoN tariff please?
Thanks
P.S. I've cancelled my switch with my potential new supplier but they say that it will be about 5 working days before it is completely stopped. EoN have told me they can't do anything until I have cancelled, which I now have, but I am in limbo. I have just got to hope that EoN keep v18 open or I've wasted my time and will have to start again. Is this correct?0 -
Just switched an account I look after to v18, having arranged a switch to v17 (from v15) a week ago. No problem rearranging it over the phone (apart from being on hold for 20 minutes). Confirmed that the exit fee will not apply if E.On announce an even cheaper tariff and you want to switch to that. It only applies if you switch away from E.On.

That's interesting. Slightly cheaper than the v15, but with a £60 exit fee on dual fuel.

No problem victor. You can switch between E.ON products at any time without picking up an exit fee. If it's better, you can start on version 18 straightaway. I do know, for all eligible customers in all regions and for all usage, version 18 is universally cheaper than version 17.
Totally understand about the £30 per fuel exit fee but this only applies for a change of supplier. As above, you can switch between our tariffs whenever you wish without an exit fee.
Also, if you sign up for our Price Alerts, we'll email you when a new version of this tariff becomes available.
Hope this helps victor.
