DS2 sent me the deposit money this morning and I have made an additional payment to S@ntander of £62.51 bringing my new debt total to £1495

Off to work now but I will remain on a high all day:D

I did this once and I can and will do it again.

  • I have arranged to start work a little later on a Monday and Tuesday to avoid the traffic, this will save me fuel and my stress levels as quite often a 20 min journey takes me over an hour. As my role has changed since being off poorly I will no longer be claiming mileage as I am no longer required to visit employers. The positives outweigh the negatives by loads but I will miss the little extra in my salary at the end of the month.

I have been told by my manager that I have had a pay rise approved which should kick in January but until I have this confirmed properly I am trying not to think about it. If it does happen then it will mean an increase of around £2000 a year.

DS2 has sent me a link for his Christmas presents which come to around budget of £200. This sounds excessive but apart from me, my Mum and one of my brothers they do not have anyone else buying for them. OH parents are no longer alive and his sister doesn't bother. DS1 has a budget of £100 as he is 22 and earning decent money himself, he also does not want anything and is the most frugal 22 year old that I have ever met. He cycles to work (does not own a car) and did mention that he needs better clothing for the winter so perhaps that is an idea.

Waiting for Black Friday to buy OH present.

Counselling session today but apart from that a pretty stress free day ahead.

  • Nothing much to report, had another NSD at work. OH popped out for coffee and fuel and then splurged on a memory card which is mildly annoying at £16 when DS2 has a spare one but couldn't find it.

Today will also be a NSD for both of us.

Late night tonight and an early start so cant see me posting tonight. Hope everyone is having a good week.

  • Morning:)

I have had a very positive week and I am definitely feeling like my old self again and seem to have found a balance with work. The job will always be demanding, teaching is by nature but I have not had the anxiety that I have had in previous months. I also have been given 2 new members of staff for my team:T

Money wise things are trotting on nicely. I am really happy with the progress I have made on the CC and fingers crossed that my appraisal next week bears fruit. After reading some MFW diaries I feel like next year may be the year I return to making overpayments on the mortgage but one thing at a time. CC cleared, Emergency fund built up then I can start to think about overpayments.

Been pondering about doing Matched betting again but I did quite a lot of this around 8 years ago and have no idea whether accounts get closed etc. I am also cross that I cannot locate my spreadsheet that I had to track them. I can find the folder but it is empty so looks like I have deleted it in error:mad: It still might be worth doing for OH? Will investigate over the next few weeks.

Had an almost spend free week apart from £5 towards a gift for a student who has had a baby and £2.80 as it was my turn to buy the coffee and cake for my team. (we do this fortnightly and it is pretty cheap).

Quite a spendy weekend ahead but I am really looking forward to seeing DS1:j
