  • Thanks LMD, I think that I will try the free trial first and then if I am not impressed I will look for other solutions. I wouldn't mind a sneaky peek at your spreadsheet though as I might think that is better than YNAB.

CCL, do you find it easy to use? I am worried about using it effectively. I would like it on my phone but also my netbook. Would I be able to pick your brains if I get stuck?

Thanks Beanie I am enjoying it so far including a 2 hour kip on the sofa this afternoon!!

  • Course you can... :D I don't consider myself an expert, but I do love that I can use it on my phone as well as the laptop. They run some online training sessions as well which I found really helpful.
  • Sent it over for you to have a look at, let me know if you have any questions xx

  • We had such a lovely surprise last night. Went for a meal with the neighbours and when the bill came they insisted of paying for it as it was OH Birthday last week and they wanted to thank us for all the times we had helped them over the last few years when they had really bad luck with work and money. I was so touched to see how much they wanted to show us how appreciated our friendship is. An added surprise was that the owners of the restaurant must have overheard that it was OH birthday so they gave us all a free dessert and sang happy Bday to OH.

Such a lovely evening and we only spend £5 on the tip.

I have £37 left in my purse and it is payday tomorrow so I am thinking of popping to Asd@ to make the most of the cheap fuel. Think I will have a lazy pottering about day today as it is tipping it down and I really do not want anything from a shop and it is too nasty to go walking. Might be a good day to look for Eb@y stuff to sell and also Gumtree.

DS1 flies to USA tomorrow for a work trip (so proud of him) so I will SKYPE later to wish him well.

Cat seems a little under the weather today and I have noticed that the litter tray has quite a lot of number 2's in there that look quite soft (Sorry TMI) we think that she is around 17-18 years old but not too sure as she was a rescue cat. Will keep an eye on her.

  • Had a totally slob out couch potato day yesterday, didn't even bother to wash up:rotfl: I thoroughly enjoyed it though. OH and I had a NSD and PJ day:D Caught up on some programmes and watched a film........bliss.

I also booked a 4 day break for our main summer hols next year which is country holiday park which has fantastic reviews regarding the local walks and wildlife. Just need a long weekend to add on to the beginning/end in a B&B in the lake district. Total cost should be under £1000 which compared to our last 4 years holidays is a bargain. Had to pay £25 deposit to secure the holiday which I shall allocate from free Qu1dco money.

Late start for me today at 1pm so I have caught up on the jobs left from yesterday and tried to get my head around YNAB. I have money pots and accounts all over the place and am in the middle of switching which is taking quite a lot of brain power to work out. FD is all set up and I have access to internet banking which is still not the case for OH:mad: it either says service unavailable or incorrect details.

Still have £32 in my purse which I will use for fuel for the next 2 weeks (if I can eek it out that long). I am trying to work my travelling around avoiding peak rush hour periods to save fuel as I work 12 miles away from home with the majority of travel on a major A road and I work in a large town. Looks like I shall only hit these on Wed and Thursday morning which is a blessing.

Need to call into Yorkshire Bank to get a bank statement for OH account due to no access to internet banking yet.

  • Technology is driving me up the wall:mad:

Yorksh1re bank is an utter disgrace and after 5 days of trying to get online banking set up I have settled for the banking app for now. Every time I try I get right through the whole thing only to get an error message on the final page:mad::mad::mad::mad: Helpline is as much use as a chocolate fireguard with a wait time of over 30 mins with each call.

I am also getting frustrated with YNAB as my starting figures in my various bank accounts are causing money not to be budgeted. I much prefer the money pots idea so will not be subscribing once the free trial is over. I had a pretty good spreadsheet that I designed myself so will re look at that and try to include some of LMD ideas:A

Apart from that I am fine and dandy:D

  • I used to be with Yorkshire bank for tears and years... They are the most backwards, archaic bank I have ever seen. Run for the hills my lovely!

Spreadsheets rule (just saying :p)! At least with a spreadsheet you can see why something is amiss and fix it, you're in control not the web.

Hope things get sorted with the bank

  • Oh and in the 18 years I was with YB, they never paid a penny interest in my current account.

Glad I moved to nationwide :)

  • Just to chip in ;) I have a Yorkshire bank account - from when it was egg years ago and I use it to pay my cashback into as I cannot really access it without the faff of the year taking place!
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Thanks girls. I am just waiting until the reward gets paid and will switch back to Halifax as soon as I can. Gave up with online banking.
