Ah no - hope that it's not too expensive. We had to get our flat roof part of the house resurfaced about 8 years ago. It's been brilliant but I remember having to find £600 for it. Fingers crossed for you.
Hope you get out for a walk - a bit if fresh air makes all the difference. Not giving up

Time to take back control

OH has had another look at the roof and thinks that he may be able to repair it again as he thinks he can see where the water is getting in. Its worth a try.
Had another NSD today and have been busy making quorn chilli for my 2 late nights at work. I feel really determined this week.
Health wise I walked 15 mins into town and back for my first speaking therapy session which I feel will be of benefit and have booked again for next Tuesday. The therapist recommended a website and asked me to look at the section on self esteem and has also advised me to keep a thought journal as I find it difficult to switch off so my thoughts are racing pretty much all of the time.
I have eaten healthily today and drank more water than usual, however I am now relaxing and having the final glass of wine left in the bottle from the weekend.
Did another survey on PA which brings my total to £34, this is only from the end of August so I am quite impressed and plan to draw out at the end of the week to throw at the CC and leaves me just £24 short of taking me under the £1500 mark.
Work was OK, trying to avoid stressful situations and jumping from one task to another by sticking to my to do list and making positive progress throughout the day.
Got to speak to DS1 last night which was lovely and have arranged to go out for lunch with DS2 in town as he is playing in a gig on Sunday so coming back home is not practical.
Countrywise Calendar arrived today and it is as usual of very good quality and will make a lovely gift for Dad and GF."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -

Agreed with above, sounds positive to me, especially if you don't have to fork out for a new roof before Christmas...
fingers crossed he can fix it!

Some reflection on my goals for the week.
HEALTH
Eat healthily every day by taking in my own lunches and dinners on late nights Wed & Thurs, this gives me energy and helps me feel less guilty of any naughty stuff at the weekend. I managed to stick to this every day so I am looking forward to a few glasses of wine tonight watchin CIN
Attend my first counselling session on Tuesday. Not sure what I will make of this but will keep an open mind. I think that this is going to be helpful so have booked for another session next week. I also have been given some websites to look at.
Do some form of activity every day, even if it is just a Yoga stretch at the end of the day. Bit hit and miss with this one but I was on the go all day yesterday and climbed lots of stairs!
Drink more water!!! Still not great with this, I think I need to buy a bottle and keep it with me.
WEALTH
Have all days at work as NSD (Mon-Thurs) I must remember that the odd coffee adds up at 70p a cup. Achieved this apart of a £1 raffle ticket for CIN
Switch OH bank account to get our hands on the £150 switch reward, this won't come in time for Christmas but will help with debt repayment or savings I will do this over the weekend
Clean up DS2 bike and place on Gumtree for selling. Weekend job
Find out if there is a indoor car boot fair as we still have loads of stuff to flog Cant see one local apart for hard standing ones
HAPPINESS
Make arrangements to see DS2 next weekend Meeting on Sunday for lunch :j
SKYPE DS1 Had a lovely catch up and will again over weekend :A
Be kind to myself with work tasks, I need to remember that I am still recovering and am not firing on all cylinders yet. Tomorrow I will focus on planning and organising exams. I have really tried with this and am getting better.
Collect 2 presents from Asd@ which are waiting to be picked up and buy Mum's CD. Done
Order OH a nice card online for his Birthday this month. Job for the weekend
Overall a very projective and frugal week. I have packed some text books up to send to Ziffit for £9.30 and once that hits I will throw it at the CC along with the money from Surveys which is now £34.65
Still no sign of DS2 sending me the £200 deposit money back but I will chase this up when I see him on Sunday. Apparently his flatmate received the total deposit for all in the house and he still hasn't given her his bank details:mad: The actual amount is £260 and as an incentive I said that he could keep the £60 but it still hasn't hurried things along. That lad drives me up the wall sometimes.
Weather is stormy and temp is supposed to be much lower than recently, not feeling it yet so the heating is staying off until at least early afternoon.
Need to make a shopping list for the week and draw out some cash from the bills account.
Last months CC statement has arrive from MrT which is £336 but I have budgeted for this and am gaining extra CC points.
I also have a GP appointment today as HR has insisted that I return to discuss my return to work, seems stupid as I am not on any medication or anything but I will oblige."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Yes sometimes DS's are sent to try us  :rotfl:

I agree Beanie, they are pitiful at the moment which is a shame as I always use them for the 4 x rewards. Nothing like the taste of a free meal out"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
My heart is heavy with last nights events. We stayed in the 11th Quarter last October and it is such a happy and energetic part of the city with lots of people out socialising and enjoying life. So sad
My witterings appear so trivial but in an attempt to focus on things that I do have control upon I shall be busy today being thankful for what I have and continuing with my goals.
I have decided that the Y0rkshire bank £150 sign up current account switch reward will be the best for OH current account. This offer ends on 30th Nov so I will get that sorted today.
OH agrees that DS2 bike is worth cleaning up and putting on Gumtr££
Going to aim for a NSD as we are concentrating on building up our wood store and will be spending most of the afternoon sawing and bagging pallets.
I hope that everyone has a peaceful weekend.:A"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Yesterday was going great guns moneysaving wise until we returned home from gathering 40 bags of wood which meant 2 trips and an hour of stacking in the garage by which point I was not in the mood for cooking so we ordered a takeaway for £13.10. I feel less guilty though as we now have enough free fuel to last at least 2 months:j
We are driving up to visit DS2 for lunch as he is at uni in our nearest big city, still too far to commute daily though so he stays in student digs (hence the summer of skintness). I have a £10 off a £20 spend at the local Fl@ming grill which will almost half the bill. I am really looking forward to spending some quality time with my boy, I miss him loads
OH was accepted for the current account so I have switched that and we will be receiving £150 reward around the end of January. That is fine by me as it gives me time to decide what to do with it.
Qu1dco is annoying me as it is still pending over £60 which was originally stated as being paid in October:mad:
Groceries came under budget at £44 (budget is £50 inc alcohol) think OH will need a jar of coffee but apart from that we are well stocked up. I have also been looking at energy suppliers as my current deal ends next month but my current supplier's new fixed deal looks the best one price wise so I shall be sticking with them for another year. Currently we have £57 in Credit but that should even out over the winter. I still think that £52 a month is high, might have to relook at what is eating the energy, although we do have more showers that baths so maybe that?
Haven't had chance to clean up DS2 bike yet but should have time this afternoon and stick it on Gumtr££"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Had a lovely couple of hours with DS2, lunch was more expensive than I had anticipated £29 even with the £10 off voucher but we had a lovely time and OH and DS2 had 2 pints of ale included in that too. I love spending time with my boys and miss them loads. I cannot wait until Christmas when I will have them both home for the holiday period:j
Didn't manage to get the bike up for sale as DS said that the brakes need attention so OH needs to look at it first.
Here are my goals for the week
HEALTH
I have overeaten over the weekend so will aim to eat healthily all week and take food into work.
Drink more water (I actually feel dehydrated today)
Attend my weekly counselling session, this weeks focus has been on self esteem
WEALTH
I have retrieved my Remoska cooker from the cupboard and will use this instead of the main oven as it uses a quarter of the electricity. I have discovered that on evenings when I work late OH puts the oven on for a single item such as a steak bake or chicken in breadcrumbs:eek:
Have 4 x NSD this week apart from OH fuel and a jar of coffee which I have set money aside for.
Check free lotto and surveys daily
DS2 has finally received the deposit money back and I will have it this week so shall send the payment to CC to bring it below the £1500 level:D
HAPPINESS
Get myself organised for visiting DS1 on Friday/Sat:j:beer::j
Continue to research next year's summer holiday, we have had a huge discussion about this and have decided to cancel our original idea of an expensive holiday abroad for one at home. We had a lovely couple of nights in the lake district during the summer so have decided to do this instead. I am hoping that we can do this for less than £1000 including spending money.
I think that I have finally broken the cycle of checking work emails and constantly thinking about work when at home, I will continue with this."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0
