So pleased to read that you're feeling better. You're right - we're in a stressful job by default - and need to make sure we don't burn out. Enjoy your weekend! Not giving up

Had a lovely weekend, spent quite a bit but it was also DH Birthday and we went out for 2 meals and drinks. Totally worth it though.
Back to being frugal and I am aiming for 4 x NSD at work so off to MrT in a minute with a £6 off a £40 spend voucher. Need to make sure that I buy enough to last the week as payday isn't until next Monday.
DS2 would like some waterproof clothing and a fleece as he cycles into work which I have managed to buy online with cashback so only need some chocolates and pants/socks, maybe a bottle of plonk and he is all done. Waiting for Bl@ck Frid@y for OH present to see if I can get it for a bargain.
Blooming freezing when I woke up this morning so will quickly put the brushed cotton sheet set on before I go to work which will make the bed much more cosy. Had the heating on for a couple of hours too but mainly because the house was a cold as ice after leaving it empty the weekend. The cat has fallen out with us and hasn't moved from the front of the fire since we got back.
Looking forward to a productive week and countdown to December. Getting quite excited now."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Sounds like a brilliant weekend and you've had no bother getting straight back on the DFW wagon.
I can just imagine your cat - one of ours particularly loves to lounge underneath a bedroom radiator and she gets most disgruntled when I switch the heating off...Not giving up

Don't start work until 2.00pm today until 9.00pm and I have fully utilised my morning by switching my second current account which I only use for extra income from Qu1dco etc to grab another £100 :money: that is £250 free money coming our way:D Ther is a 6% linked regular saving account with the new deal so I shall make the most of that which will earn me around £100 ish in net interest. I will start this from December so I shall have the interest in time for next Christmas. This account will be one of my saving pots with no bills coming out at all.
Payslip has arrived for Monday and I have £185 extra in it for mileage and parking and I will use this to buy DS2 main present. OH has his eye on some audio equipment so I shall be scouring for Black Friday deals and voucher codes.
Spoke to my Director and he confirms that I will be moved up 3 points on the pay scale from January which means around £3000 increase in salary. After PAYE and pension I reckon this will be around £150 a month in my pocket from 31 Jan.
Works Xmas meal has been cancelled due to lack of interest, miserable so and so's but on the plus side I got my £35 back.
I have been feeling really guilty about not disclosing the CC balance to OH which is making me more determined to get it paid off as quickly as possible. I feel like I have let him down even though this is money that we have spent together, I should have just come clean months ago"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -

£80 left in my purse until payday on Monday which should just about cover our food shopping for the forthcoming week and a meal out with the neighbours (and great friends) going for the happy our teatime special which is £13 for 4 courses of the best Thai food I have ever had. Must remember to have something very light for lunch.
Bank account swich for OH has gone ahead without a hitch so far with the exception of being unable to set up the internet banking so that is a job for today.
I have decided that next year we will have a holiday from only free money earned in the first 6 months of 2016. We have a good start of £250 from the Banking switches and £50 in the put from surveys and I shall also up my selling of stuff. Aiming for £1000 by our holiday in July.
I am really trying to break the cycle of wanting luxurious and ridiculously expensive holidays rather than enjoying more simple things. One of the best times I have had recently was a night /day in the Lake District so that is our chosen place for our main holiday next year.
My head is buzzing with plans for 2016 which I can actually start and get going in Dec. Not wishing my life away but I cannot WAIT until that CC balance is gone and I can get cracking!
Thinking of signing up to the free trial of YNAB to help me manage my bank accounts and various money pots."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
I've never used YNAB but have my own excel tracker to track balances on cards and my monthly incomings and outgoings... Happy to share if you PM me your email address as I can't share via MSE
