Thanks CCL hope your first day back to work wasn't too bad."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0

Managed to list another couple of items on £bay last night and H@lifax current account reward has hit the account so that is £5 towards my £10 a day challenge. The £50 refund has already hit the account too! I think that they know they have got away lightly with that one:mad:
Surveys and £bay are quiet but I will plod on. I am aiming to make an additional £300 this month which will go towards the CC and some to my Xmas savings. I also get a mileage allowance at work and while I don't really notice the extra fuel that much I get 45p a mile which soon adds up. This is added to my salary so I have decided to count this as additional income and throw at the CC also. Quidc0 had another £10 tracked so have updated signature, hopefully they will all pay out before Xmas.
Goals for today, quite a nice day at work ahead on employer visits.
HEALTH
Park up and walk to first appointment (1 mile there and back)
Take healthy lunch (quorn chilli with brown rice)
Fruit for snacks
Drink 2 cups of green tea
WEALTH
Have a No Spend Day
Transfer some funds around
Pay OH CC bill (£25)
List another 2 items on £bay
HAPPINESS
Skype DS1
Work through my to do list
Take time away from desk for lunch"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Really cross with a work meeting at 5pm. Really felt disheartened afterwards as no matter how much we seem to do it is never enough:( Thank goodness that I have a happy home life otherwise I would go insane. Trying to remain positive, I can only do my best in the time I am given.
No spend day and I managed to hit all of my health goals. Had a survey from I-say.
Checked OH bank and his salary still has not been paid in:eek: This is the third time this has happened. He works for a really small business and it transpires that a supplier hasn't paid so they just decided that he could wait for his wages. Didnt even tell us:mad: Really annoyed about this too. Good job there is no wine in the house.
Line drawn on today and tomorrow will be better. Off to have an early night.
Must remember to take my make up off as I woke up looking like Alice Cooper this morning."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
It's a new day, it's a new dawn......
Feeling slightly better this morning but quite tearful and anxious. I will remain positive and busy all day to try and get through the volume of work that I have. I am supposed to be getting another member of staff for my team soon but no date confirmed.
My skin is breaking out which is a sure sign that I am under stress, need to find coping strategies that stop me from feeling so overwhelmed.
Used £1 from the jar of copper that DS1 said I could have to buy toilet rolls (thank goodness for the self serve checkouts) so I have put £1 in my piggy bank and am classing it as free money. I will try and do this again a few times this month.
WW group tonight and I am really looking forward to it as I havent been able to make it in weeks.
Goals for today
HEALTH
Try not to let things overwhelm me, it's only a job and not a one that involves me saving lives or anything actually THAT important.
Take a healthy lunch and fruit for snacks
Do some deep breathing Yoga throughout the day (the car is a good place for this)
Drink at least 2 cups of green tea
WEALTH
Check banking
Check for surveys/free lotto
Gather some more things to £bay
Have a no spend day at work
HAPPINESS
Skype DS1 tonight as he was in bed really early last night so did not get chance although I did speak to him on the phone
Leave work by 5pm!! (earliest this week has been 6.30pm)
Set myself small goals with work task and work through them methodically
Enjoy my WW meeting tonight (whatever the scales say) and have a good catch up with my friends there"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Hope you're feeling better soon. I can't believe that your OH just hasn't been paid. That happened to me once last year and I was devastated. All my direct debits bounced and it was a nightmare getting sorted out...
Try not to let work get you down... I know it's hard when you're constantly told you're not good enough - but you can only do your best. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Thank you for your kind words CCL. Usually I do feel valued at work but some of my role is to do work for a different department to my own and these are the ones causing the headache. Will escape from them all while working away next week as it is only myself and my line manager who I get on really well with.
OH has now been paid and you are right about the direct debits, thankfully we only have C Tax and life insurance come out on the first of the month so I had transferred that from my bank account when it hadn't hit the bank on the 31st. Still ended up £4 overdrawn though as i had forgotten that we got a few items from Ald1 so lost out on his H@lifax £5 bonus for the month."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Manic day at work yesterday but productive.I am supposed to be off work today but need to go in for some staff training and a meeting. I also need to get lots of things organised before I leave on Sunday as I wont be back until Wed 10pm. I shall take the time back at half term and wont need to use my holidays up. I also didn't manage to get to my WW group last night as I got stuck in traffic after dropping a colleague off:(
I was accepted for an Tesc0 0rchard fish trail worth £4 plus some extra coupons (I think). this is my first one and I am looking forward to it.
Talked ourselves out of a take away last night and motivated myself to put together a quick stir fry with noodles. We are quite proud of how we have managed to eat at home for almost a fortnight and avoid restaurants and takeaways.
Goals for today:
HEALTH
Take healthy lunch to work
Drink at least 2 cups of green tea
Do some yoga after work
Use stairs at work
WEALTH
Work out banking and how much I can send to the CC as it due on the 16th Sept
List 5 items on £bay tonight (nothing I have currently listed is moving at the moment:o)
Check free lotto
Play £1 balance in bingo account, never know I might have a win
Check for surveys
HAPPINESS
Relax tonight in a lovely bubble bath (OH is out with a friend)
Leave work no later than 4pm
Watch something I enjoy tonight and light candles
Had a lovely catch up with DS1 on Skype, it really does make my day when I get to see even if it is virtually one of my boys. I do miss them. FB is full of pics of little ones going to school, those years went by so quickly but I enjoyed every moment of them growing up."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Having been away from the site for a while I read your initial diary post and it reminded me of me... I used to be a spreadsheet princess and tracked everything down to the last penny, it was an obsession.
Life got a bit strange for a while and I became complacent, it was easy to spend now and worry about it later.
I too am back on the DFW Wagon and already feel encouraged from the support and advice on this site. Looking back at my old diary last night I was quite overwhelmed and a bit emotional.:o
So, here we go again but NOT on our own!

Welcome back LMD. I also read my old diaries and felt the same, I was on the mortgage free wannabee diaries as I had nailed my finances and was smashing the mortgage. Hey Ho, life would be boring if it was straight forward and I really have missed this place too.
Good luck with your journey, if you have a diary I will subscribe xx"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Thanks, I do have a new shiny diary (with links to my old one too for inspiration when needed)
Feel free to pop over and have a read, I only started last night so there's not much on it yet!Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £7390 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3677/£6000 | Travel savings £1832 | Sinking pots £31070
