Nice to see a few other residents have made it to this thread.
I've been away and annoyingly didn't realise that the temporary email I set up cleared the inbox every hour. Doh!
A bit nervy now seeing as tomorrow will be the 14th day which means an increase in the charge from £60 to £100, unless of course you successfully appeal it, which I haven't done yet.
Not sure what the best course of action to take as a group is at the moment. I really want to get the tickets cancelled without having to deal with VCS, but the MA seem to refuse to acknowledge the whole situation.
The fact there's an exemption list that you can be added to without a permit but isn't actually advertised is a complete joke. Surely that can be used as an argument against paying the charges too?
Appeal, win, then shove the result under the nose of the w****r at the MA and say anymore of this nonsense and he'll be getting a letter.0 -
Well done JBak on getting the word out to other victims of this ripoff, and welcome to the other residents that have come on this site.
Spread the word. Appeal each and every ticket, appeal again at IAS and cost this scumpany money.
Also, anyone who receives more than one NTK should do a freedom of information request to the DVLA as the PPCs MUST request keeper details each time. It only costs them £2.50 but it adds up, and if they haven't been requesting keeper details each time, then it's time to complain to DVLA, and Trading Standards.I married my cousin. No need to worry but you really need to prepare your appeals ready to send them off making sure you don't miss the deadline. So, don't fret about the increase, just enjoy costing the scumpany monies.I married my cousin. Hi JBak good to hear from you!
I'm appealing each of my 3 tickets by email using the template the day before the 21 day deadline so I'll be sending first one on 21st.
Had contact from another resident today but they don't want to appeal. They contacted VCS who said as a "gesture of goodwill" they will cancel the ticket if they pay a £10 cancellation fee! Has anyone heard of this happening before? Disappointing they won't appeal but their descion. Apparently colleagues he's spoken to have said about getting debt collector letters for months afterwards and that's put them off.
@Fruitcake
Can you clarify something? You mention appealing to VCS then IAS but I thought the consensus was to NOT appeal to IAS when it's an IPC company as it's not POPLA? The template appeal mentions this.
Thanks0 -

Thoughts are split on this. My opinion is that everyone should appeal simply because it costs the PPC money, then go into ignore mode. Others say don't bother as it won't get you anywhere so go straight into ignore mode.
I just like the idea of costing the scumpany money that's all.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Ok understand thanks for clarifying Friticake.

Sent you a mail to the account you set up. I assume you'll still be using it now you're back.0 -
I for one advocate always appealing to the IAS. Their decisions are anonymous, they reverse the onus of proof, and they usually misdirect themselves. They are not worth the paper they are printed on. They would be laughed out of court if they were put in front of a judge, and, they cost the PPC money. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Dar management company, Re parking permits.
After careful consideration I/We have come to the conclusion that there is no requirement to display a permit to park in our assigned space(s) / park vehicles in the car park, as detailed in our lease/rental agreements.
As such I/We categorically reject the terms that you impose upon us by your contractor, Simon-Renshaw Smith's Vehicle Control services, and as such we/I am returning the parking permit to you as there is no need for it to be displayed.
I/We would like to remind you at this point that as principal you are responsible and liable for the actions of your agents, should any tickets, or follow up letters be placed on any vehicle by VCS/Excel ( or any other Parasitic Parking company - PPC) then you may be charged at £18 per hour or part there of, as a result of having to deal with the tickets/correspondence as well as any costs involved ( cleaning equipment to remove any sticky residue from the PPC tickets, Personal protective equipment ( gloves etc) as well as any additional disposal costs.
I would also like to draw your attention to the UKPC vs Davey case, and again remind you that you are liable for the actions of your agent.

Hello, i too live in the same apartment block. Saw the letter on the wall, sent an email and no reply. I got one parking fine, issued just before 8am the morning the new permits went live. The ticket officer was there when i got to my car at 8am. Had a chat with her and she told me 'they had been informed by the management company to be at the car park to issue cars without valid permits a ticket' (i obviously dont have proof of this now) but the management company have emailed me saying this wasnt the case.
I have appealed my ticket and WILL NOT be paying. I also complained to the management company and asked for something to be done.
Im glad we are all sticking to our guns by not paying but i expect to receive a rejection email from VCS about my appeal. Just need to work on the next stage. It really annoys me the way these scammers make money.
The best thing was, when they were handing out the tickets, the ticket officer was parked in another residents parking space, surely that should be ticketed! GRRRR!!0 -
Once you have done the 1st appeal and then the follow-up appeal to the IAS, you will have the framework in place to turn each appeal into a 5 minute job.
All you ever nned to do is make sure you saved your appeal statement from your emailed appeal in a wordpad (or LibreOffice) file so all you need to do is copy/paste for each new appeal.
Same with the appeal to the IAS. Just load up the 1st appeal, change the appeal number and save it with the new number in the filename before sending it in.
If you all worked together and didn't get them kicked, but kept them on site, you could do them some serious financial damage.Never Knowingly Understood.
