Hi everyone, another sfd in the bag.
Had a lovely afternoon with dd1, went a walk along a local canal path and the sun shone all the time, bought dgd1 back home with me and I will take her to sit dgd3 whilst her mum is at work tomorrow (she loves playing with her youngest cousin).
Not sure what I'm doing the rest of the week but I'm at the dentist for a filling tomorrow pm which I've already paid for, anyway off to bed as I have an early start.

Hope all goes well at the dentist.

Just a quick check in nothing exciting to report.

Fiddled around with spreadsheets and its so annoying me I can't pay anything off.

    Sfd today 16/20.

Been looking at getting a lodger again. However need to sort my leaky shower out again first. Might try and get professionals in this time. Just thought it might be worth doing renting for 6 months at least as I want some spare cash for house repairs as well next few months.

Feeling flat and fed up. Need to go for a walk but found it heartbreaking without my pooch the other day. Came home in floods of tears. May drive somewhere then go for a walk where I don't usually go tonight.

Haven't seen many blackberries around here ready yet. Will start hunting.

When we lost our middle dog (6 years ago) it was really hard, when I used to come home I cried because he wasn't behind the door waiting for us and getting in the way. Losing our first wasn't quite as bad as we had middle dog. Withing a few months we got a puppy (same breed - always Labradors for us) and that really helped us. Hope you feel better about it all soon.

Me and DH went for a run last night and like you Bob we got caught in a downpour, we had to shelter under a tree at one point as the road was like a river and we couldn't see. I was very thankful for a hot shower when I got back.

We didn't spend any money yesterday, DS went to a friends for the day and DD had a friend here for the afternoon. Today I think we will go out somewhere, the sun is shining just now so we will see how we feel in an hour or so. Me and DH will go running again tonight.

I received some MOC from Tesco yesterday, the first was £5 off a £60 shop and if you use that the next one is £8 off a £60 shop, I thought they were reasonable and have done one shop for delivery tomorrow and I will use the other in a couple of weeks.

:grouphug:Thanks guys and Dolly know exactly what you mean, open the kitchen door and my best mate is not there. Today is going to be difficult one, friends funeral aged 46 and I am already weepy.

Hoping the rain holds off till later and Bob you dry out. Get another pair of shoes you have my permission.

Better get some work done as leaving early, Spent yesterday didn't want to go home so went and bought myself some things I needed and some I didn't. Decided I needed cheering up so got cutest make up bag with a happy bunny on it.

Got grandson later he still hasn't asked where the doggie is? Not sure what to tell a 4yr old.

Have a good day folks and leave me some crumble out. x

  • Good morning all!

MIA again for the last few days, sorry 😩😩😩

Hubby and I did a lot of decluttering last week during our days off. Only managed to do the dining room dresser drawers, understairs cupboards, kitchen, a bit of the loft and part of the outhouse. It feels cathartic to let go of a lot of things that's been gathering dust over the years. Bags and bags of outgrown clothes have been sorted into Car boot lots, cash for clothes, eBay and ragbag. Also managed to sell some stuff in the car boot last Sunday afternoon and raised £79.50. We were blessed with a glorious sunny day. At some point we thought we were not going to go because of the terrible weather all day on Saturday, with thunder and lightning to boot. As soon as we got home it rained cats and dogs again. After the car boot we were so hungry but fought the urge to go for fish and chips take away and blow our earnings. We did have some ice cream though. The stuff we haven't sold are still in the car coz we're planning to go to the car boot again on the bank holiday Monday. They gave us a discount for the stall fee if we come back on the BH so we will avail of that. We still have a lot of stuff in the loft to add to the stock. Looking forward to some more additional funds raised.

During our decluttering I also came up with an idea for a project. I put away some brightly coloured shirts to turn into rag rug. I am going to crochet the shirt yarn that I made and the left over fabric will be made into shag rug. I have cut some shirts already. I am so excited to be able to turn junk into something. I did have to buy crochet needle though.

I got paid today and I have £200 more than I expected.:j That, plus the carboot funds, and the energy club cashback and the First utility refund will be a big help. We're just waiting for DH's pay on Thursday to finalise the payment and write the next month's budget.

So sorry to hear about your dog calling. Congratulations fellow turtles who have been making milestones and extra payments! Hugs to those who need them.

Calling - I hope your friends funeral was as pleasant as funerals can be. You really have had your share of sadness. Hugs to you.

Dolly - Impressed to hear you've been out running. Do you usually?

MissTara- Well done on another NSD!

TheOnlyGirl - We missed you! Great decluttering there!

I made a PAD of £1.01 today to the personal CC & £4.20 to the business. I used my wombling total to do the personal one, although if I'd waited I could have paid off more as I got a great womble by finding a reciept with Schwartz spices on it which gave me 75p on COS when I uploaded it. Too speedy for my own good :)
Tenant has paid us the rent, so I can go ahead & kill the last of the Sainsbobs CC now, plus Min payment on the Ts card. And then work out from there what September looks like.

Had the midwife straight after work. She has given me the MAT B1 paperwork, so I can see if Im eligable for maternity allowance. I really hope so....

Having chicken wings, spicy rice with kidney beans, & nachos for dinner tonight.

    Hugs to everyone.

    Hi everyone!

Day off again today so walked little ones to the library to finish the summer reading challenge and collect their medals. The heavens opened on the way home so we got drenched!

Finally had refund from insurance company (a whopping £12!) so have put half to savings and half to credit card. Just waiting for the compensation cheque to arrive now.

Have had some more interest in the business so hopefully can secure a few more bookings

The funeral went well as far as funerals go wasn't too bad. Hard when you know they planned their own funeral and written letter to the mourners. Unfortunately this was second funeral been to like this thanks to cancer.

Collected grandson and explained doggie gone to heaven, was sad and little tears. He then asked is the rabbit was still here and his face lit up so smiley. One bunny hugged, stroked and brushed all afternoon.

Raising a glass of wine to my friend tonight. Just sat down for some reason been decluttering my kitchen.

I'm glad you've had a bit of time with your grandson today. Children can be a huge comfort when things are rubbish. They are just so sweet it can lift your mood just being with them.

Dentist was great until the numbness wore off, but I've taken some painkillers and I'm ok now, he did say I would probably have some discomfort as the filling was so deep and big, but it's done now and I can breathe for another 6 months!!

Both dgds returned to correct homes and peace and quiet is in my home, bliss. I will have to get a move on tomorrow as I need a few bits and want to start some more painting, and going to do some of the ironing I'm doing for dd which I will take back on Friday (there's a lot of it so I'm doing it in two halves), I'm keeping busy since I stopped work and I heard today that dd and I are 2nd on the list for an allotment, so hopefully by this time next year we may have one, so we are going to a bit of time over the winter months looking at gardening books and deciding what will work for us, neither of can wait and I suppose it all depends on how long a piece of string is but it's still exciting for us!!!
