Today I am grateful for my home, for raspberries, for cloud watching and making images from them, for a simple tea, for space to breathe.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Evening all,
Spendy day today as needed cat food and a few bits in case I do go on holiday tomorrow. I still have no idea if I'm going or not so tomorrow will be quite an unusual day. Still got my fingers crossed.
Hugs to calling, I think a break sounds lovely.
Academia, hope you enjoy your week off.
If you don't hear from me until September, I have got on the holiday :jLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Another SFD. Feeling a lot brighter despite the rain. I am gearing up to start decluttering again. I have been using up old felt pens/fibre tips and odds and ends of notebooks so rounding up/disposing of odd scraps of paper - would like to go radical on things like cc terms (why do they have to send six separate leaflets) but usually err on hte side of caution. Thinking of scanning in all the old tax credit paperwork (again never needed it since the boys no longer need student loans and have reduced it considerably but it all says it should be kept - I have some from the years when they got all the calculations wrong so 4 x lots of paperwork relating to the same year).
Want to get on with some sewing but need the paper scraps out of the way before I start with scraps of cloth/ threads/ needles and trim. Hoping to use up some crafty bits to decorate mum's birthday present. Also waiting for a statement for the 'spending cc' - I love ticking off and then tearing up all the receipts. When DS1 was small he was sitting there one day with a crayon and a piece of paper making small marks. When asked, he said he was me 'doing the sums (accounts)'.
Today I am grateful for clearing lots of clutter (a small pile of paper has gone out each day but it is only now starting to have an impact) for the laptop continuing to work even if it overheats (so working for an hour or so at a time) and a couple of keys are jamming (must persevere - DS3 used the 4 instead of an 'a' for about a year before purchasing his new one) and the weather (miserable to look at but feels less oppressive) clearing the air. Also the slip I bought in the charity shop before I went in hospital - went for nighties but bought this underskirt. Full length but quite short covers my bum) cream with clusters of red roses on, spaghetti straps and lace trim - it's silly, possibly the only patterned item of clothing I have and it makes me feel glamorous hides a multitude of sins as well). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi everyone!
Been a busy day. I have skimmed through what you have all been up to but sorry I haven't had a chance to reply. But well done to all your achievements and hugs to anyone who needs them.
Budgets are looking like:
Fuel - £89.26/£120
Groceries - £182.82/£200
Days out - £194.79/£200
Business - £44.17/£100
Have also been told today that DSs membership fee is due to the rugby club, so that's £20 that wasn't budgeted for. I don't mind paying it as he adores his rugby, just wished I'd had time to plan for it.0 -
The last few days have been NSDs so I think I'm up to 13/20. My budgeting hasn't gone particularly well this month. I must have miscalculated somewhere and left myself short. I have just under £25 left in my account so aiming for as many NSDs as I can.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86
Mortgage overpayment savings - £3.33/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £675.980 -
Hi everyone, not a lot happening here, sfd today but not yesterday so up to 11 so far, so don't think I will hit 20!!!!
On course with food and fuel budgets so all good so far. Had food out of stores for dinner and putting a list together for winter stores ie tinned stuff, coats, boots etc so I can see what need to bought or cleaned as the weather seems to be changing for the worse!! Trying to get myself organised now I don't work.
Anyway not had chance to read through yet so will go and do that for half hour before bedtime

It was the same with DS's football fees this week, if you ask for notice they think you're mad but when you budget so tightly it is difficult. School trips are the same, they never give much notice.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi everyone!
Work again today and it has been a SFD, taking me to 5. Can't believe I have managed so few! Need to get my thinking cap on and raid my cupboards to make something that resembles lunch to take with me tomorrow.
Feeling a bit impatient with debt at the moment as with the current money situation I can't see a way out any time soon.
ETA: I've just looked back to where I started in December 2013 and worked out I have paid off over £11,100 worth of debt (not including mortgage payments) since then. Unfortunately, with no more student finance I can't keep going at the same speed.0 -
That's a whopping amount WelshKitty! Awesome!
Today I am grateful for dd + friend having a great play date, for a good chat with my mum, for tea being edible ( not one to repeat! ), for cutting back bushes, for cooler air arriving.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
