Oh Dolly that's so sad, but did make me laugh! Generally boy mums I know seem to endorse the view that their son's are very complimentary to them. I know mine is. He tells me I am beautiful. Lovely. Notices the slightest change in my appearance. Which sadly for him isn't very often. He had the most glamorous reception teacher and would often come home smelling of perfume and thought Ms H was dreamy :) glamour and cafes don't mix :rotfl:

Girls, I get the impression you have to work harder with :)

Hi everyone, well taking tablets, pain killers and taking it easy so I'm ok!!
Sfd but not sure what I'm up to now, I'll have to count back. Cut the lawn this morning, it's only small as most of my garden has been gravelled or raised beds. Getting loads of runner beans and tomatoes at the moment, at least the courgettes have more or less finished now, I had that many people stopped wanting them!!!

Anyway going to do a bit of reading and knitting, bath and early night.
Hope everyone is fine and dandy.

Today I am grateful for solicitors who are good at their job, for trains that have empty seats, for tasty food, for money in the bank, for giggles with dh.

    Hi everyone!

SFD today. Spent most of the day working and taking children to their activities.

My mum has gone away for a few days and has kindly left me milk, eggs, carrots, bread etc that won't last until she gets back. Tonight's dinner was bolognaise from my batch cooking and garlic bread that I made from mums left over sandwich thins - they were lovely, much nicer than the garlic bread I normally buy! I wonder how much they cost to make? Will have to price it up!

Have received £75 cheque for cash back I have been waiting for. Will pay it into the bank tomorrow and split it between the credit card and savings. I have started doing the 100 squares thing as I pay off the credit card and I should be at 2 squares by the time I make this payment! Still waiting for about £150 more in cash back so it will all make a difference.
  • Love the fact you are all going strong and the challenges are still up and running. Well done to all of you!

Do you mean how much are the thins to buy or how much is garlic bread to make home made?

Thins are about £1 at the moment. To make garlic bread is dead easy. Split a baguette or whatever your bread item of choice is. Then use a pastry brush to brush over a generous mixture of butter or marg and garlic, salt and pepper. You do need quite a lot of the mixture to avoid a dry baguette. Then wrap in tin foil tightly and bake for 10 mins. It is yummy.
That said when Sains do 2 garlic baguettes for 70p and you can't buy the ingredients that cheaply, is it worth it?

    :hello:Nice to see Kat.

Well August really has finished my debt busting off for September pretty much as well. Added to my current credit card unexpected costs with the loss of my doggie, stuck my car insurance on it as well, as need what cash got saved to pay plumber for jobs next week.

Going out for a meal tonight as well friends birthday hopefully not too expensive. Just hope she likes where I picked, Tapas with Jazz music on, thought it was something different.

Had a horrid day yesterday back was hurting badly, collected overtired whinny grandson, been on a trip with play scheme and was shattered. I made heaps of cupcakes, both daughters helped eat them but I still ate 2 for breakfast this morning.:)

Glad August is nearly over been a really sad month, no pooch and my friend passing away. Hoping for a fun happy September even if I will be so broke. Determined to have a whole week off work and get away somewhere. Relatives:D look out :)

Have a great weekend folks, got to do some preparation work for the plumber, this way though it will save me some dosh, Otherwise not a great deal planned. Not worth travelling anywhere with traffic about.
