Calling - tapas and Jazz sounds nice, hope you enjoy it, you deserve a treat.

    Nice to see you NSK.

Well yesterday I spent £10 on our outing as planned and the kids bought their own ice creams in the park. Last night I called at the co-op and got their £5 meal deal, I had one the other week and they are really good value.

It's been a nice day here apart from one rain shower and a bit breezy but that has helped dry all the sheets. Me and DS have been on our own all day so we went to the country park nearby and had sausage rolls and lemonade. I have just made pizza dough for pizza night - I am making two big ones, one pepperoni and one spicy sausage and mushroom (I get basic sausages and take off the skin then mix chilli powder into the meat).

Tonight I am hoping to do a dry run to DD's new school as I will be picking her and her friend up each day, it's easy to find but finding somewhere to park is a nightmare so I am looking for a route where I can park and they can walk to meet me.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All

Horray for the new challenge being up -off to sign up now Apple :j

Dolly- pizza night sounds really good. The dry run to your daughters new school also sounds a very good idea.

Calling - I really hope you can have a week away. You've had such a sad and stressful month.

    Hello to NSK too, :D

I am working tommorow, have a 1st birthday party at the shop to cater for. It's a good one as it's a family party so should be quite chilled. All adult catering as they've only got the 1 birthday child with them and a cake for 20 to boot :) whilst I do that OH and son are going to go to a free cinema at our local library that is showing a newish movie my son hasn't seen. They can take home made popcorn and cycle there so zero spend.

Right on that note :) have a good Friday evening all.

    Bob

Payday for me today so have paid another £40 to the debt. I've got £95 left to pay off cc2 so that's going to be my aim for next month.

Me and OH went a wander round the charity shops today and I got a pair of jeans and 3 tops for the bargain price of £6 :D

  • Hi all, I'm back! Wales was fab, and as I only spent on (pre-budgeted) food whilst we were there, I'm taking the two days as NSDs. OH bought a Christmas pressie for one of his friends, which is definitely the earliest he's ever started to plan for Christmas - I'm rubbing off on him, hehe!
Going to a friend's house tomorrow, so did a quick bake tonight (with things I already had in). Had a quick look at the September challenge - it looks fab!
You're all doing so fantastically this month, we're so close to the August finish line now turtles!
Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free! :D

    Hi everyone
Hello Kat, hoping your journeys are going as alright and you are enjoying all the experiences.
Been very tired today so haven't done much but had dgd stay the day and tonight but as she's a bit older she can amuse her self quite well and goes out to play with other children in the road, so I'm lucky as she's such a good girl.
Another sfd but need milk again so I will get some tomorrow but seem to be ok for everything else. Another courgette has been used today so only a couple left now yay!!!

Hey everyone, apologies for dropping off the face of the earth (again!) I have been reading along with all of your highs and lows.

Big hugs to Calling, it must be so hard to loose a constant companion, but I've no doubt that your pooch was dearly loved and had a great life.

Hello Ninja-saving Kat, thanks for creating these challenges, I'm going to go back and read some of your legendary tough love I've heard so much about since I joined :)

People are really racing along with the debt-busting it makes me proud of out turtle team!

I've balanced the August budget and things have gone well - I got a big council tax refund, some cashback paid out and some expenses which have boosted my income this month as I hardly earned any extra money with it being summer at Uni. So I've put a usual chunk to my FIRE plans, some in a holiday fund and a bit extra in the pot for new doors to my house as I've just got a quote. My savings rate this month is 74%, so I'm pleased with that. Kept a bit aside as I will have no income from part-time work next month :(

Bob, you would be proud of my wombling this week - went to Asda and bought enough to meet the Price guarantee conditions out of mainly Shopitize items I needed, used a price guarantee voucher and then got another for £1.48 off that shop as well - definitely got a free dinner out of it, and picked some left receipts at the till but they didn't qualify. :D Would have been perfect if I'd remembered to bring the coppers from home to feed into the self-service till - next time!

Off to sign up for September and think about the new challenge - hugs to everyone - another challenge nearly complete! xx

    Hi all.

Today I have returned a bag I bought for DD last week for her PE kit (too small for the incredible amount of stuff she needs), it was £8 with 10% off but they refunded the £8 so 80p made there. Bought her a new bag for £5.99 so that was £2.80 into the Christmas pot. We needed a bike part which I had budgeted £10 for, it only cost £9 so another £1 to the xmas pot. Lastly we bought a different dog food (trying a sensitive type) and it was £5 less than budgeted so that went to the same place.

Called into Sainsburys for some bits and used £2.50 in nectar points so only 65p paid there, somehow we seem to have a 1000 nectar points we didn't know about, I have checked my account online but there is no reference to where they have come from.

Also got DD's half fare bus pass sorted, we just need to wait for it to come now. Had a big sort out of shoes in the hallway as it looked like 10 people live here, all the walking boots have been moved elsewhere and running shoes taken off the shoe rack and put in the shoe cupboard.

Have a lovely Saturday evening all.

Well done Synonomous! Top wombling :)

Dolly - have you linked your ebay account and your nectar points by any chance? That could be one explanation. Or have you complained about anything and they've added nectar points on for that reason?

Nanny - have you tried making courgette ribbon salad using a veg peeler to strip it down? It's delicious with salt, pepper, lemon and a pinch of cayenne or chili flake. You can also bake courgettes into a cake. Very virtuous :)

    Hi Turtles

Long day. Found £1.05 roadkill. £1 at the supermarket where I locked up my bike and 5p in our road.

Made £100 profit on the party. Was a difficult one for a few reasons so it's good the money was right.

Amazing YS haul at Mr T on bread. I now have a whole freezer draw full of loaves, rolls, crumpets that I've paid 15p each for (roughly) next hope to do the same with meat.

    See you tommorow!
