Well done bob, Apple and Misstara in the extra payments
I've just been out for lunch with a friend for her birthday but we paid for our own so £8 off the personal spends. Also bought another couple of decorative bits (cost £15) for my home, I can see myself getting into bad habits againThen topped up the cat food at the supermarket and bought petrol. I think I need to stay at home and lock away all my cards.
Going to have another quiet afternoon at home with the dogs, will mow the lawn, walk the boys and then want to reorganise the paperwork.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hi all. Calling, so sorry to hear about your friend – make sure you look after yourself. Bob, congrats on the booking! Welshkitty, sounds like your DS is becoming as savvy with money as you are. Nannygladys, hope you feel better today. TOG – oh dear, hope the shift today goes well, it’s not great being “behind” yourself all day! Misstara, glad you had a good time away
apple, keep s t r e t c h i n g! You'll be there before you know it! Fmess, may be worth taking a few minutes to think about what’s making you spend more than you normally would, and if there’s any way to handle that without spending? We’re all 100% behind you
NSD today as working from home (in truth, too tired to get out of bed, so glad of the ability to work from home!) – just trying to work out some overpayments on the mortgage – trying to get a balance between savings and overpaying is really hard, I just want to throw everything at the mortgage but would be really stuck then if anything broke! Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday – nearly halfway through the weekBought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free!

Just a quick check in from me. Thanks for all your kind words.
Claiming a SFD today as planning to just chill out in garden and walk dog when I get home. SFd 7/20 Might even get to see youngest daughter, hardly see her now she has a new boyfriend.
Fmess I have little spending sprees at times, usually when in need of cheering up. Does you good now and again but stay in control
Impatient for Thursday payday and hopefully can pay bit more off my Bcard.
Welcome back Misstara hope you have come back with gifts for us all.
Fmess made me giggle walk the boys

Hi All
Back again. I made the decision to withdraw £100 of the £180 I paid into my Emergency Fund by mistake this month. So have paid that off today.
Plus the floating £55 to come in puts me at 50% of my target. :T
Apple - Well done on being so close to your stretch already! Are you tempted to go up again:rotfl:
Sorry Wishus by the way, I didnt join in the congratulations on your triathlon yesterday. That is amazing:T
Welsh Kitty - Will you take cards at the event? If you are planning to you may want to consider a Paypal terminal. Mine was £49 & you can use it with your phone (bluetooth) I know they are popular with people who do a lot of stalls, so could be a future investment item? No contract, money is usually in your account in 2 hours, & punters like them....food for thought?
Nanny Gladys - Hope tonight is a better night sleep wise.
The Only Girl -With the amount you are working right now Im sure being at work an hour early did not thrill you. Will you be paid for that?
Dolly - Hope the dentist went ok?
MissTara - Welcome back from your hols
Fmess - Having your home a welcoming, lovely place is obviously important to you at the moment. I can see why after a break up. Can you maybe allocate extra budget for that just until you feel happy with things? If its making you miserable denying yourself these things then is it worth it?
AD - Good luck making some overpayments on the mortgage.
Calling - Congrats on the new man candy by the way:T
Just finished doing account reconcilliation/ticking off reciepts. I am ahead on the business CC now. Have until the 19th to pay the minimumn, & I've almost done that bar £42.65. I've paid £328.59 off since the last statement was produced. So I hope to have enough to pay another chunk off by the date. PADing is very useful indeed when you do it all month.
Opened the shop FB page to discover another party enquiry for September this time. Might be tricky trying to fit that one in even if they do write back, as Im supposed to be open for an arts trail that weekend, dont know if it lends itself to having a kids party as well?
Night

Thank you bob, calling and academia. I think your advice of finding out why is spot on academia and as you say bob, the answer I think lies in my recent break up. I feel very uncertain about the future, I want to find the Mr Right and get married and have children and I am not getting any younger. The shopping is a good distraction and having the visual decorations and items in my house brings me joy as they are all lovely objects (but completely unnecessary in most cases). Also, this is usually a time of year when I spend a lot more time and money socialising as I am on my summer holidays and my socialising is very restricted by work during term time. The two coupled together has a compounding effect.

Fmess - you've knocked a bit more off your debt! Go girl!
I'll probably not extend my s t r e t c h target (yet!!) as I have several things to pay out still. I'll no doubt keep adding to it anyway, but need to be more cautious as we'll be feeding more mouths for a while. Hmmm. May pay the 2 things that NEED paying so that they do not get forgotten about, then I'll know what I have left. Decision made!
Today I am grateful for the noise of heavy rain, for a chilled day with dd, for a lovely walk to the library, for more decluttering, for strawberries eaten straight off the plant - yum!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Love the sound of those strawberries!

Academia thank you. I am very proud of DS. He has learnt to save his money until he finds something he really wants to buy with it, and even then will deliberate over how much he will have left. Unfortunately, DD is the exact opposite and can't wait to spend money as soon as she has it.
Bob thanks for the info. Card payments hadn't even crossed my mind. It's something I need to put some serious thought into. I think I need to decide whether I am going to do regular stalls or just do a few occasional ones to promote the business.
Today has been another fab day. Went to watch the Wales rugby team train at the local stadium and then me and DS had tickets for this evenings q&a session. We met 3 of the players, including DSs hero.
It's also been a SFD, bringing my total to 2 so far.0 -
Hi all, not a sfd for me as I had to spend on buying a loaf of bread, but that was all, so it's still 5 foe me I think.
Been doing my weekly sitting duties today for dd, and then bought little one home with me so dd could get some studying done, same tomorrow as well.
I did sleep a lot better last night and I'll just see the news headlines at 10pm and then go up again as I'm still tired today but that could be something to do with looking after a 2 year old all day!!! (Love it really and we are so close to each other)
Anyway ((((hugs)))) to all that need them and a few fripperies never hurt anyone.
Nannyg£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund0 -
Hugs for Calling and for your friend's family.
Spent money buying a weekly bus ticket (£14) and a few bits I needed (cider vinegar). Was going to go for YS bargains and salad stuff (need to kick start the diet urgently) but too tired after visiting the other house and sorting the bins when I got back.
Two men were standing looking at the 'for sale' house and then they knocked so I let them look round. They had been looking at one in the side street but may contact the agent tomorrow - they would offer less than current price as they do them up and rent out. I need to contact the agent tomorrow anyway. Maybe time to reduce the price again and one of the previous viewers might be interested at a lower price.
So many things I need to take action on, trying to formulate a plan but not enough hours in the day (hours needed to spend on rebuilding my business/ housework/ physical therapy / exercise/ work on other house etc). Had a rather disturbing dream last week and need to get decluttering as well.
Today I am grateful for buses, for good neighbours and a strange cat (DS3 said he thought we were experiencing a 'Dirk Gently' moment and I knew what he meant - saw a cat by the back gate yesterday and it's very like my original 'Sally').My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
