Hi Kirsty. Glad you got it sorted. I love those apps. Even getting 5p just to upload a receipt is brilliant. I do have to be careful not to buy stuff that I wouldn't normally buy.
I have started to wonder though how often they put new items on there.

I agree
I can't believe I didn't know about these earlier! I pride myself on hunting bargains and always using cashback sites so I'm really pleased to have been told about these!
One of the many reasons I love this forum!

A few of my bits and pieces ended on ebay today, and there's a few more tomorrow - at the moment I'm happy with how much everything has gone for, it will be a nice chunk off my very account
I'm looking forward to seeing another jumping man when I pay very off! Still a little put out that paypal won't let me access funds for 3 weeks, but at least it'll be there eventually!

I made a few little payments today but am in a vile mood tonight. We have been looking for a little while in passing at houses for sale just to see what is out there and tonight we have found our dream (for now at least) house. It's a 2 bed semi, not in the best area but an area I know and like and due to the vendors divorce is on the market for a ridiculously amazing price. I know that with my level of debt my chance of a mortgage is practically nil but OH has no debt and I can't help but wonder if it would be worth finding a mortgage advisor and seeing if there is any possibility at all....I'm guessing not but I find it so frustrating. The mortgage would be approx £200 less a month than the rent we pay now so I know with 100% certainty it's more than affordable for us even with my debt over-repayments.
I guess part of me wants one of you lovely people to come along and tell me to give it a go, and the other part of me needs a bit of tough love:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

You don't know if you don't try do you?
My mum always said to me that it's better to regret things you have done rather than things you haven't. Would you rather know for definite one way or the other? Or spend the rest of your life wondering what might have been?
Sorry, no tough love from me other than to suggest you give it a try.Not giving up

That is a very good point, Thank you ccl!
I think we are going to try and find a mortgage advisor and just ask the question, but I have no idea how to go about finding a reputable one - I don't want to just throw money down the drain!
Off to the mortgages board to see if there's any mortgage advisor advice...:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Hi Kirsty
A good mortgage advisor is worth their weight in gold. We've been with ours about 7 years. She's done everything from mortgages, remortgages, life insurance, critical illness cover. She even gave us a kick back on the last thing we did as she got such a big amount in commission. We originally found her when we went to a big brokers in the city to do a complete overhaul of our pensions, investments etc back when we both had good jobs pre kids. But she has since gone out on her own and is a great independent.
Is there a local forum for your area? I'd imagine that would be a good way to get recommendations.
I agree go for it. Nothing ventured!

Hi Bob,
I've been in touch with a couple and got meetings set up for next week - there is a local forum but not much activity! I've asked around at work and got a few recommendations so we will see next week - I definitely want to meet with them and get a feel for what they're about anyway so hopefully will see better then.
I'm not sure if it will go the way I would like but like you said - nothing ventured!
Made a small payment onto CC today, but am going to be a little more save-y for w little while in case by some miracle we need to be paying solicitors fees in the next few months!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I've only mortgaged once and it was through a broker with the estate agents once we'd chosen the house - so no wise words there. But I'm pleased that you've decided to investigate. Not giving up

Thanks ccl, me too - I'm not feeling overly optimistic because of the level of debt I have, and also my spending habits... I'm not sure how the mortgage lenders will look on my PAD habits etc! It's definitely worth a try though.
I've also got my current and previous employers to write a character reference for me, I'm not sure if that would even help with a mortgage but I'm willing to try anything!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)
