  • Sounds like you have a lot on your plate at the moment. I know it's easier said than done, but one thing at a time. Hope you get a plumber and gas engineer sorted sharpish and that it's not too expensive. I totally understand about how you're feeling towards your OH (mine is still off work 3 months in) - remember you can only control your behaviour, and not his. I hope it all works out ok for you xxx

Luckily I am in a better mood today, although the washing machine was last nights casualty :rotfl: filter got blocked, I didn't notice the drum was still full of water so flooded our lean-to when I opened it. Cleaning out the filter tonight though so hopefully that was the cause. I think we are just jinxed with water at the moment!

We had a plumber out yesterday lunchtime who was a friend of a friend and didn't want to charge us. I gave him some cake as payment and he seemed happy enough :)

Boiler is currently firing etc so we will get it serviced after payday if (fingers crossed!!) it keeps working until then. I just need to keep topping the pressure up in the meantime.

OH is really miserable at work but has decided he wants to crack on with it and try and enjoy Christmas. He is going to look for something new in the New Year, and I'm being as supportive as I can as I know being miserable at work makes you miserable generally. Hopefully we will have a good weekend which will help.

My work is manic at the moment, work coming out of my ears and no time to do it all so I think I'm going to have to do some tomorrow morning before OH gets up so I can enjoy the rest of the weekend. I can't wait for Christmas!

My friends and God daughter came round last night to watch Christmas films which made me feel all festive :D

I'm not entirely sure why I'm in such a better mood today, I feel much happier even though things are still not going right in some ways. I'm grateful for the reprieve though, so fingers crossed it lasts.

  • Glad you're feeling better today. Not good about the washing machine, great news about the plumber. I know what you mean about work it certainly makes a difference when you're happy at work. Glad you're feeling all festive. Have a lovely weekend

Thanks lincs, I hope you had a good weekend too.

Cleaned out the filter and put it on a wash with just a teatowel, emptied it again and now have a working washing machine :T

Had a most unproductive weekend! Wrapped a load of Christmas presents, cleaned and did the food shop for the coming week but other than OH and I decided to have a Marvel marathon and watched Avengers, Antman, Ironman 1 & 2 and Thor. It was lovely to chill and have some time cuddled up on the sofa.

This month is much tighter than I had hoped it would be, and I'm not entirely sure why - I need to spend a couple of hours going over my spreadsheets tomorrow night while OH is out and figure out what has gone wrong.

I was supposed to go to a cousins christening yesterday but am not feeling particularly well (hence the movie marathon with sudafed, tissue and water!) so just chilled at home instead. I go through phases of wanting to be around people all the time and then not wanting anyone around me other than parents and OH. This week feels like one of those times but I am fighting it as we have 2 Christmas outings which we have both been looking forward to.

Oh Kirsty I am sorry to read all of your problems. Who the hell would laugh at a women on crutches falling over??

It is also very hard when you feel you and you OH are pulling in different directions on what should and needs to be a shared goal. It is very difficult being the bad cop regards to things like the new zeland trip but you have to stay strong. He will thank you for it eventually. I hope you feel better soon too lovely.

Thanks lincs, it appears to be a bit of a lingering cold - not fully coming out but not going away either, i just feel stuffy headed and a bit bunged up - I'm normally ill for xmas day as I get overexcited and make myself poorly so I suppose I'm just getting started early this year :rotfl:

Thanks Bob, the thought of it still makes my bloody boil. I dread to think what would have happened if I or my sister had been there, as I saw red when she was telling me about it, let alone if I'd seen it. I hope you're ok anyway, and little Bob?

I think the problem for OH is that he isn't in any debt, never has been apart from owing me £200 for a holiday last year which he paid back as soon as he could. I think he feels like he is suffering because of my past mistakes (which in turn makes me feel bad, because it's true. Most of my debt is from before we met so I do feel bad about it) it's the reason we have a joint account for the house but separate accounts for everything else until my debt is paid.
Don't get me wrong, he never voices that, it's just how I feel about it. I would never stop him going, I just can't go with him unless we have a lottery win!

  • I think there's a lot of lingering bugs at the moment due to the continued mild weather we need a few days of freezing cold to get rid of them, hopefully you'll be on for Christmas day and you'll be able to enjoy it.

  • Kirsty firstly huge congrats on your new home. I've finally caught up with you and was so happy when you said you'd signed. I know it's what you really wanted.

Sorry to hear about the little troubles you've had though. All will come good in the end.

Hope you and your mum are feeling better soon. Sending huge warm hugs.
