Having a bad day today. Had a naughty spend. Bought a Christmas Tree.

It was reduced to £24 but I am so annoyed with myself. It's blown my budget this month out the window so I need to sit down and re-budget...what a time of year to fall off the wagon as it were :(

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Ok. But at least it's a small overspend. You didn't go nuts.

Right. I'm shaking off the self pity. I made a boo-boo but there's no point dwelling on it. Onwards and upwards. It means my PAD amount until payday is reduced which serves me right and will hopefully teach me a lesson.

And just like that all seems better in the World!

Woke up this morning to see that a topcashback payment which has been showing as confirmed for almost 3 months is finally payable!! When it clears into my bank I will be able to make an extra payment which will bring my debt down to 18.5k BEFORE DECEMBER PAYDAY!!!

I am so excited! My aim was to get to 18.5K before christmas and I can't believe I will actually make it! :j

I listed a few bits and pieces on eBay yesterday too, so hopefully they bring a few £s into the pot :)

I can only agree ccl, what a fab 6 months I've had - LBM, moving in with OH, buying our first house and still £6531 less in debt than on 25th July :j

Things can only get better with my debt reducing too  Added the mortgage into my signature so will be working on overpaying that by very small amounts until the debt is gone, then will focus my energy on that debt!

Now I need to set myself a new goal - which I've decided will be under 18K before 1st January. Once I've managed that I'll be looking at my next target, which will be for my 30th birthday in March  I have no idea how I got to 30, I'm sure I blinked when I was 21 and ended up here!

So time for another working out session:

    August 2014 - £29400.23
    July 2015 - £25131.49
    October 2015 - £20253.14
    December 2015 - £18600.00

Paid off £10800.23 total since August 2014!
£6531.49 of that has been since July 2015!

I wish my LBM had been years ago - I'd have been out of debt and halfway to paying for a house now. No time to dwell though, debt busting still to do and I'm so pleased I had my LBM and found this forum :D

  • Those totals are impressive and really inspiring! If you keep up that momentum (which I am definitely sure you will) it'd be paid off in less than 18 months! 30 is still really really young and I wish I'd had my lightbulb moment in my late twenties but there is no point in looking back in regret when you are doing such a great job now. Thanks for the inspiration, I'm off to re-examine my spreadsheet for a few more pence to pay off...

    Thanks both!

Strictly serious, My DFD at the moment is Jan 2019, so 36 months away. I've had a lot of extras over the past few months that I won't normally be able to do (sold half my house on ebay/fb sales because of moving, had a small bonus from work etc) if I could keep up this sort of momentum I'd be a happy bunny but life gets in the way :) I'm not too unhappy about it though, when I started there was 49 months on there so I've got it down a lot!

It's official, the topcashback payment hit this morning and went straight off the MBNA card, meaning I've paid £700.00 off that alone in the past 2 months with normal payments and PADS :)

    Happy kirtsypoos :)

My grandparents are coming to visit this weekend to see the house for the first time. We've had the hall, stairs and landing decorated this week and the carpet is going down on Monday. Bit gutted that they won't be seeing the final product just yet but they are so thrilled that we've bought a house that I think it could be falling down and they would love it :rotfl:
