When I saw that there were 10 unread posts on your diary, I knew that the mortgage must have come through. Massive congratulations - and enjoy your new home together. Best Christmas pressie ever

Thank you CCL, best Christmas present in the World - I have gone a bit post mad tonight!
OH is making me laugh though - he has been so calm throughout - when I told him the offer had been received he said (and I quote) that's good, what are we having for dinner :rotfl: and he's supposed to be the impatient one:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I'm pleased with the deal we've got (2 year fixed at 3.78) I know it's not the best out there but with the issues we have (my debt, OHs complete lack of credit history) I am more than pleased with it....also, it works out at almost £90 per month cheaper than renting even after the additional buildings and life insurances :T
I'd say that's a pretty good deal!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I think that is what has really spurred me on to go all out to get the mortgage - I hate the thought of paying someone elses mortgage when paying our own leaves us better off and with something to show for it!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Well I'm still pretty much on cloud 9, but had a bit of a back to Earth with a bump moment this morning when about 3 separate things went wrong with my rented house....we don't want the landlord dropping in unannounced as we have started packing (not put the notice in yet) and he can be a funny !!!!!! at the best of times. I'm sure when I tell him there are repairs needed he will start letting himself in whenever he feels like it again (he hasn't done it for about 6 weeks, which is a lifetime for him!) and find out about the move before we would like him too...typical!
Still excited though, and keep looking at the pic OH and I had taken outside the house with the Sold sign!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Hummm its tricky when you are trying to pick your moment to tell people things isn't it. When do you plan to give notice?" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Our tenancy is currently a rolling tenancy but it started on 27th of the month, so they way I understand it we would need to give notice to end on the 26th of the following month....hopefully if all goes well we should be able to move in to our place in November so we are hoping to give notice on 26th October if we can get everything in place by then (ideally we would like a minimum of a week crossover as we will have to move after work/on weekends, and we've budgeted for paying both rent and first mortgage payment in one month, difficult but do-able):j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Did a bit of soul searching last night, as I felt a bit lost yesterday and I have realised that I actually thrive when I have something big to focus on, so my next plan is to start hounding the solicitors (along with PAD-ing, which has been the best challenge I've ever joined!)
For some reason the thought of a mortgage has spurred me on even more with paying everything off, I just get annoyed towards the end of the month when I realise I can't pay much more until next payday
I'm still in shock and beyond excited, can't believe I will be a homeowner before Christmas :j:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Followed through with my plan to hound the solicitors only for them to tell me that we may not be in until 20th November
was hoping it could be quicker than that because there is no chain either side - our vendor has moved into rented so the house is sitting empty, but I can't hurry the searches, as much as I might like to
On the debt busting side, I am so close to 30% off my total debt paid, I'm hoping to get there by this months payday by PAD-ing, so excited to reach that milestone!
There's a group of us who all get together for New Year, usually at someones house (mine last year) which sounds cheap but gets expensive quickly. The plan earlier in the year was to go to Manchester for the night so we were looking at well over £200 per couple
Had a discussion last night and out of respect for everyones financial situation we have decided to stay local and go to a golf course down the road for the evening (band, buffet, disco etc) which is £100 per couple so although not very MSE, it has more than halved what we would have spent, without missing out too much...still feel a bit guilty for agreeing to it though as that's £50 (my share) which could go to debt....:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Hi Kirsty
When we moved we managed to do it in 6 weeks which the solicitor said was the quickest possible if nothing goes wrong. So try and be patient and 'enjoy' this last stage before you become full home owners. It will be here before you know it.
Glad that your friends were up for a change as well. That's a good sign.
