I'm alternating between feeling very positive and feeling like no-one in their right mind would look at my debt and give us a mortgage, think OH is ready to murder me :rotfl:!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

The sold sign is actually up on the house! :j:j
Still doesn't mean we will get the mortgage but it's made me very happy!
It was a friends birthday yesterday so we went to a local pub for 2 for £10 meals (budgeted for!) and another friend was there whose little girl has just gone three weeks old so I had lots of new baby cuddles and fed her (was loathe to let her go if I'm honest!)
Saying that, being around my friend and the baby this week has reinforced that neither myself or OH are ready yet....fingers crossed that by the time we get there it's not too late.
Had a terrible work day yesterday though, we had a new girl start a few months ago as my 'right hand woman' left. She decided today that it was too far from home and she isn't coming back in. I was fuming as she is still in probation so only has to give a weeks notice but she isn't even giving that! So now I'm stuck doing my own job and training another person at the same time
Oh well, nearly the weekend of anniversary surprises with OH:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I'm in dire need of the lovely, supportive MSE-ers today.
I've been incredibly stupid in terms of the mortgage application....checked my equifax and experian which showed no defaults, late payments or CCJs....or so I thought - I didn't even notice the tab on experian to click for older history and there is no less than 11 () late payment markers from 5 years ago on a barclaycard.... I feel like such an idiot!
I also have complained to Barclaycard as around this time they (without warning) stopped taking DD's (still showed as active on my bank, but weren't coming out) so I was calling up monthly to pay by debit card over the phone, obviously I was slightly late in doing so most months, but I never received a late payment fee or was told.
It's only showing up on experian, not equifax.
I'm devastated, we've come this far and this is probably the final straw for Halifax on top of my high debt levels, we've paid out almost £700 on valuation fees and initial legal costs for my stupid past to get in the way once again.
I didn't sleep all night, kept lying there wondering how to tell OH. Haven't found a way yet, need to speak to him tonight which will be a lovely start to our anniversary weekend...wish me luck:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I don't know much about mortgage applications etc, but is it really the end? Or are you just thinking the worst?
I also don't know much about this, but I think that you can add to note to entries in your credit file. And I also think that if you dispute anything on there then they are obliged to remove it whilst it is being investigated. Definitely get your complaint in though - it sounds to me a little unfair that you're being treated like that. However, on top of all of that, it's from 5 years ago - and I think these things have less impact as time ticks on. My gut feeling is that your MA will know about this already - and that it will all go through, and eventually you will kick yourself for making yourself feel so miserable today.

Thank you so much CCL.
I have actually just got off the phone with the MA and he said I need to stop panicking as Halifax have already done the Mortgage credit check and apparently told him they are happy to proceed subject to valuation.
I think I've been beating myself up all day and snapping at anyone unfortunate enough to be around me for no real reason other than I still can't believe we've got this far and I'm just waiting for someone to say that with my debt we shouldn't have got to this point...we really have set our hearts on this house, which probably wasn't wise.
In other news I got a small cash bonus from work today for arranging a job for my boss, I'm torn between keeping it for house items (when we move we have to buy an oven, washing machine and freezer) or paying it off my debt. My other worry is paying cash into my bank and Halifax wondering where it's come from - I've already paid all my pots in over the last few months which amounted to about £800 so I'm already worried about that looking dodgy, not to mention my constant small PADs looking strange.
I'm probably just over stressing again!
Thanks for reading my rants! I am feeling more positive and looking forward to my weekend so fingers crossed all goes well:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Oh lord I am so sorry you were awake worrying all night. What a horrible shock you've had. It is bad how the credit referencing people all do it differently so you don't know what to look out for.
We had a situation 3 years ago where the fact that Call Credit had a CCJ recorded against my husband that we knew nothing about because it was all a farce, that almost scuppered us moving home.
The CCJ was filed against my husband at an address we hadn't lived at for almost 10 years, because some dodgy scammers had opened a Next catalogue account in his name, long after we'd moved. The account didn't even have his name spelled right.
Anyway, I used to monitor our experian and equifax accounts but had never heard of call Credit. A day or so before we were due to move this information suddenly appeared. It ended with us in a frantic race against time to get Next to accept we'd been gone from the property several years before the account was opened, then get them to call the issuing court and have it withdrawn. Talk about stressful.
So you have my full and deep sympathies. In our case all was well. And it sounds like it's going to be ok for you too. Thank goodness!

Bob that sounds absolutely awful, I'm so pleased it all worked out well for you in the end but the fact you had to go through that is horrible.
I know the CRAs are supposed to be there to help but I don't think they take enough responsibility for fixing errors in the reports.
I'm glad it ended well with you, and hopefully will for me also!
I've still had no response from the complaint I put into barclaycard (although it has only been 24 hours so I may be being a little eager!):j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Pleased that you feel a bit better about the whole thing. I didn't think that it would be much to worry about - we bought our house 11 years ago and it was SO stressful and I also had my heart set on the place. We got it and we're still here (and we still don't have double glazing) - I'm sure it will all work out similarly well for you.Not giving up

Had a really lovely day yesterday - OH outdid himself, he booked us a table at my favourite steak restaurant which we don't do often as it's expensive (birthdays only usually) which he surprised me with, followed by Michael Mcintyre who was brilliant so a good night all round
We ended up having a tiff on the way home which could have really spoilt the day/night, we both completely over-reacted about something silly but I think it's just all the pressure and stress at the moment getting to us. Ah well, these things happen. We rarely argue, but when we do it usually turns into silent treatment until one of us is hungry haha. Not the best, but it works for us!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)
