Huge congratulations on the offer. That's fantastic news :j
What you're describing is completely normal worry though. All these 'buts' and 'what-if's' - it's an unknown. You don't know if it will be better or worse - you won't know if you don't try. For what it's worth though, I don't think you would have applied if you weren't interested, and you are definitely a woman who can deal with whatever life chucks in your direction.
Also better to regret things you have done rather than regretting not doing something...
By the way - can you please send me some of your 'I love interview' vibes. I have this interview in London in a couple of weeks and I feel sick just thinking about it. I hate interviews and am really bad at them...Not giving up

Thank you all for your kind words - I am still torn. I am waiting for my current boss to come back to me to see if there is anything they can do to increase my salary. He has already told me he wants me to stay and if I'm honest I would feel more comfortable staying put, but that's probably just because I don't want the change
CCL it was something drummed into me by mad Dad when I was younger - even if I wasn't interested, it didn't hurt to go for a chat and the more interviews you have the less nervous you get. It doesn't work quite like that for me. If it's something I really want I am beyond nervous to the point of throwing up, whereas if I'm not particularly bothered about it, I am calm personified. Oh the joys of being a stresshead control freak :rotfl:
Good luck in London. You will be fine - even when difficult times are being thrown at you, you handle everything so well. I know it's no use saying calm down etc as it doesn't work, but I will say just be yourself - they will love you, I'm sure!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Well the deal is done! I am staying put. They haven't matched what the other employer offered but they have done enough so that I will still be better off than if I moved because of the extra travel involved with the other role.
I know I could do the other role, and it may be better for me career prospect wise, but that isn't top priority for me at the moment. I just kept thinking if we had a little one, I wouldn't want to be working so far away on top of the long hours. I am happy I have done the right thing, and my boss is very happy. Great news Kirsty I have to say it is reassuring as a parent when you know you can get to your child quickly in an emergency. And so you have made a very sensible choice. My only slightly negative comment is why couldn't your current work pay you what you are so obviously worth before it came to the point of you almost leaving? Employers can be such g I T s." Thanks CCL
That's exactly what made me stop and consider Bob, I knew it was better for me to be close to home but I was quite annoyed that it took this to get a payrise which should have been done a long time ago.
The other company came back this afternoon and asked if I would reconsider if they made it a primarily WFH role with reduced hours when/if I fall pregnant. The fact they are being so accommodating makes me feel bad for turning it down but I have made my decision and I don't feel like I want to go back on it now.
I've already done the projections for the new salary, which was confirmed by payroll today to begin in March and I will have an extra £100 a month to pay off my debtsvery pleased but also need to be realistic as we are going to have to do something about the car soon. It's going to cost approx £600 to fix the initial electrical problem and a further £400-500 to get the rest of the repairs done. Difficult to see the point when the car is only worth £750 when it's in perfect working order....food for thought but at this point I want to drive it into the ground and then see where we are at....OH does not agree!

That's so amazing that they made you that offer! They must really love you.
Difficult one on the car. If you are doing a lot of miles for work then having something safe is important." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I've never felt so in demand :rotfl: which is lovely, but also stressing because I hate letting people down and I feel like I am letting them down even though I don't work there and never accepted the offer.
My sister and niece are visiting today as her OH is going to a football match which he needed to get the train to from my town and was pointless her and niece going home in the middle of drop off and pick up....lovely to see them but she didn't mention staying for 12 hours!
I had to work for a few hours this morning too so was out of the house at 6.30 and am now shattered!
Niece just properly chuckled for the first time, which was amazing, Sister and I in tears - OH thinks we are quite madShe has been a smiley baby since she first smiled but just did not want to laugh and it was lovely to be able to be with her first that first
Have tabled tomorrow for a discussion about the car. OH says we have already put it off for 6 months, but I want to keep putting it off until I'm DF. It will be a little longer until our joint debts are clear too, but I still want to work on getting them sorted ASAP. Once my debt is paid, this diary will serve to keep me focused to pay off the joint debt and then I hope to OP the mortgage and build a bigger savings pot.:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)
