Take a look at myiota it allows you to send free messages, but you both need the application installed.

This site offers free sms that is worldwide. i.e. unlike cardboardfish you can send sms from outside UK and to non UK mobiles. Also, unlike cardboardfish there are no pop up ads and the message looks like it was sent from your phone.

CHEAP TEXTS (but not free)
18185, who I believe have a pretty good reputation, have been offering a pretty cheap world-wide web text service for a while now. Not free, but 1p per text to anywhere in the world. Pretty easy to use and you don't have to fight you way through endless ads, etc as with the free web text services. No phone book (you have to enter numbers, though I guess you could copy and paste from made up word or whatever phone book on your own computer), no roll over of overlength texts, strictly 160 characters, but you can send to multiple (up to 250) recipients.

www.justvoip.com offer free texts in the uk, however you do have to put credit on your account, but your balance does not get used up sending texts. Also has a nice feature, once you have verified your mobile phone number, the text appears as if it is from your mobile, enabling whoever you text to text you back in the normal way. Not too sure how long the 0p texts in the uk will last for though. I gambled myself a 10 euro top up and just hope the 0p texts stay around for a while. I am sure when charged they will only be about 1p anyway.

Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help me with a trivial Vyke issue...

I've installed it, and it works, I can send messages (I have a n80 with wifi) with Vyke, BUT

when i send a message via vyke to my friend, it goes in his normal inbox (he doesn't have vyke), but when he replies, I don't receive the reply! (and he doesn't get delivery report)



ps. if i send him a normal text (non-vyke) and if he replies, it works as normal

i have a virgin pay as you go and i have found that some texts get charged 2,3,4 even 7 times as they sayim using toom many characs but there are no rules or guildlines to what is a normal text. i feel ripped off, over charged and angry. i want a refund and full explanation of their text charges/length. can anyone help me in what i should do. ged.
