Loss of -1.8lbs for me this week thanks.

I arrived at John o'Groats on my virtual challenge yesterday.

I completed 874 miles in 65 days, averaging 13 miles a day, almost all walking but with the odd run thrown in for good measure! I had not taken a single day ‘off’. When I read (on day 3?) that I would get a gold medal if I completed it by 7th February, I focussed on that as my target and I have not had a day of less than 9 miles since. Whilst not a race, I have graciously come in 3rd place. 65 days of the alarm being set based on fitting in the walks into my day. I work a full time desk job and have teenage children. I have tended to walk 1-2 hours before work around 7am, 1 hour in my lunchbreak, and 1-2 hours in the evenings after work or dinner. Weekends/days off work, at least this or more. This has been a huge time commitment and I have really enjoyed it but I will not be signing up for another one any time soon as I am an ‘all or nothing’ person and I need a bit of a rest!

I had set myself little challenges within this challenge including:-
    Complete 40k steps in a day – done x 5
Average over 20k steps per day for a month – done x 3
    Run a 10km – done x 3
Walk to work – done x 3 (it’s a 16 mile round trip into central London!)

I am very target driven and I have other targets which I have not yet achieved but are work in progress and give me something to aim for in the coming months (like walking 26.2 miles in a day, running a 5km in less than 30m).

Rather poetically, yesterday marked the exact 1 year anniversary of the start of my diet and fitness regime. I have lost 9.5 stone (134lbs/61kg) of which 1 stone was whilst doing this challenge. In 2020, my average step count was 3k a day. In 2021, my average was 19k.

efrieze - what you have achieved is amazing - you've worked really had on the challenge and on your weight loss over the year.

Dannie - I'm sorry you've no energy - I think there's quite a few people feeling like that at the present.  I hope it improves for you.

My steps are rubbish at the moment - my work-life balance has gone to pot since I changed jobs last year and my new years resolution is to get that back into sink - unfortunately I've not got off to a good start as half of my team are off sick and I've deadlines for next week.  It will get better  because it has to

Hi fredsnail and efrieze, thanks for your last posts.

My physical energy has a tendency to shift about.  I wondered whether that had affected my results last week.  It has been a bit mixed since my last post.

fredsnail, I hope you experience some improvements the second half of this month and beyond.
efrieze, good luck with your targets.

Recently, workmen arrived next door, so have been out more cycling/walking.  Also, continue to use the indoor bike; usually very early a.m.  Diet was a little better.  Weight - 2lbs.

    Thanks.

I had an unusual week in the that I had 2 days where I ate a lot of rubbish. One normal day of going a bit wild food wise, and another where I ate enough food to feed a small village for a week. I experienced a swing of 14lbs (yes 14lbs!!!) on the scale during the week because of this, but having reined back in the food, i can report an actual weight loss of -2.6lbs which is great (if a little weird).

In other news, I ran 10km not once, not twice but three times over three consecutive days!

Hope you have a good energy week dannie (and Fred).

Physical energy was a bit mixed since last Wednesday.  Went out more cycling/walking as a "break" from all the workmen noise.  Also, as usual, used the indoor bike.  Calories were less.  STS.

    Hope everybody is okay.

    Thanks.

Thanks for everything last month fredsnail.  Please could you record me as STS which is what I was a few days ago.  Last week was difficult regarding diet and exercise.  Calories increased due to lack of usual supermarket groceries and perhaps disrupted routine.   On one hand, the indoor biking was consistently done each day.  In contrast, gardening and outdoor cycling was in "fits and starts" dependant upon neighbourhood noise again. Anyway, the January 2022 miles for outdoor biking seemed much higher than in recent years (46.7 miles).

    Good luck everybody.

    Thanks.

Hi, please could you enter me as STS as I did not weigh myself.   My diet and exercise activities has gone astray at the moment.

    Thanks.
