TY diamonds, you are right and correct!
    its just....

Got my FreedomPOP SIM, perhaps, as said earlier, I'll try that? unsure! (and that one would have to be used as main SIM in 3G handset, as tello)

So many SIMs, so much of a choice currently, though now it is getting to the point , from my perpsective, that all of my SIMs and plans are under temp offer, most are subject to draconian change from main network (EE) transfer to evil BT, the rest, in mojority, are shambles as in tethering allowance or network speeds.

Still awaiting for the ASDA SIM, that I WILL USE! , though no surprises, I expect to have there, though as in to what sounded super value to be (£5 top-up, with 12GB data) is not going to be "final solution"- recommendation.

Good to know, that tight a4se, as I am, I have plenty of choices, bad, none are really fit my requirements 100%
    ...

    anw, today's (04/11/2015) my summary:

EE offer SIM great, for until new year

ASDA (untested) offer great, for until new year

tello.co.uk, great price/plan for a lighter user in every respect and I am truly impressed with their CS, (downsides uses little bit slower three.co.uk network, and handset got to be 3G and main data slot connected)

ukGlobe, great plan for £15, with 7GB data, untested SIM or practical outcome in relation what would happen, when tethering

lifeMoblile untested, but with 4G (as they say) and allowed (as they say) tethering 6GB for £15 would be great alternative, but they dont send the SIM out, prior to paying for that plan, CS is untested.

plenty of choices, hard to keep up or to make definitive conclusion for now, but as spoken about earlier and in other threads bt take over of ee, will make market less competitive and chages are imminent for the MVNO's and price plans...

    Tethering price information
Please note that we do not allow tethering on any of our current plans. If you do use this service it is likely to use up large amounts of your data allowance very quickly, and you will be liable to pay any charge that may occur if you go over your allowance. Please check for updates on our website as this may change in the future.

I got the 20GB wifi deal, which still waiting on activation from store collection today, had to chip and pin twice for activation with my card, both approved. First pin only, second card security no and pin to activate.

No activation, called 3/iD customer services, line was terrible quality, and the call centre background noise was really loud, the guy was polite but yet hopeless, asking for the data sim number - well given I cant get that off the literature given nor place in a mobile to call out I could not give him such. "wait 24 hours" was his answer, but conflicts with iDMobile/CPW staff training.

Given the amount of problems with him not understanding me (I dont have a regional accent, its very clear english) I ended the call, no point making clear again to a third party monkey that a CPW store monkey had said he activated and "will be on soon"

Recalls why I left 3 and the horrific (but improved) customer care.

    Waits....

    iD mobile update

As per website, call to activate http://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/settings#activate-sim-card

Called back, hopeless again but I patiently explained and...

If you click and collect instore, activation becomes automatic and needs to wait until system does a update, that may mean the nightly update depending on CPW retail and 3UK system sharing infos and both updating. If you have a home delivery they can activate via customer services if 3 provisioning let them, but not if done instore on CPW internal which automatically stops such.

So card presentation and chip and pin checks instore is more secure for them but delays activation. Not great if you are activating a sim with voice and text mins, imagine the drama of trying to PAC in with no sim card activated by the website only PAC procedure https://www.idmobile.co.uk/keepmynumber

Ironic iDmobile showing ID instore and electronic security checks approved delays activation notspeeds it up LOL you could not make it up!

As everything 3 and CPW a half assed measure, two wrongs do not make a 3rd right.
