    TY!

Any better/worse, using it longer term?

just hope to get new Debit C before the end of a week, so would/could make final (one more) decision for a new mvno - "provider"- SIM

if you dont mind the 3G speed then I'd try vectone first - I usually get around 2Mbps or more so in theory you can stream SD iplayer but HD iplayer might stutter

its still working fine currently for me & Im probably around the 10gb usage mark or so now - only issue Ive had recently is that when I log on to my account it wont display my data usage anymore so i cant check how much data Ive used

another bonus is that the number i was given is potentially a 'gold' number i.e. format **** 22 3333 *

Payment with debit card for an renewable future payments (AKA monthly roll on "contract") is called direct debit mandate. To have one cancelled, you need to be able to provide proof of goods and / or services being faulty, not received etc AND offer 14 days to rectify the issues. That alone is for FURTHER charges, apart from initial payment to be refunded.

A subscription such as you describe is called a Continuous Payment Authority (CPA) and future payments can be cancelled at any time by calling your bank, and preferably, the supplier concerned. Future charges will NOT be refunded as they haven't left your account!

A chargeback is your bank reversing a transaction in the events goods or services are faulty or not delivered. Read more here I hope the Forum Team will forgive me on this one occasion for cross-posting this on both of your threads.

for that sort of money and amount- I'll be happy with ;)

annoying, but after all, what matters is actual network service
..you get, what you pay for, so, I'll put up with it, as I believe, you are not too streesed either?

the lack of usage history could be temporary but its been about 3 to 4 days now

maybe they do it on purpose for high data users ? (so they have to reign themselves in to be sure of avoiding going over 30gb & getting extra charges ?)

the lack of being able to see how much data is left could become an issue if you use the whole 30gb before the end of the 30 days

if they start charging you automatically (Im guessing they do ?) per mb after you use the 30gb it could get expensive

I dont know exactly how the charging works in this scenario though as I havent checked

its actualy not an issue for me because I only need lots of mobile data intermittantly each time Im away from home for a few weeks at a time i.e. Im planning on just usubg up a 30gb sim then buying another next time im away from home

also the card i register as a payment card is a virtual card (from entropay) with no funds left on it so they would not be able to charge me if I went over 30gb anyhow - as such I suspect the sim would just stop working after 30gb

    Clever bu**er!
    :D

I'll wait until tomorrow, if not... I'll use Credit C ;) just too lazy to register for them anonymous payment types and simply do not trust banks much... (well, to certain degree) ;) but as you say, if unknowingly, I'd end up going over, I'd hardly have a case for dispute.

    cheers fella!:money:

I had an issue ordering the sim + plan online (it looked like the order didnt complete) but then I received a dispatch email today despite it looking like the order had failed
    :rotfl:
    Unbelievable!
I tried to order, but page PAST Credit Card payment just frozen up and seems like my order will fail the same way.... it says do not refresh page...:D
fingers crossed, I'll be as lucky as you are and it will come through eventually.

For the fun part (against own instincts) I will transfer my ex EE number over, as not long left for the PAC to expire and there are not many other competitive data offers around

Not a religious by no means, but I might end up paying a visit to priest or a shaman of some sort, as haven't had much luck with networks lately

    :)

will be interesting to see if you end up 'up & running' like me despite the glitches

after my order 'failed' i emailed them via an online form IIRC & they eventually replied a few days later after I already had the sim up & running

luckily I havent need their 'legendary poor' customer support

When you look at your usage history you see an initial 'balance' of £300 & then usage charged against this balance at 1p per MB - so when you balance eventually reduces to zero you will have used the full 30GB
30GB @ 1p per MB is £307.20, so I suspect that you're not getting the full whack.

for £7.50 I can live with that - they probably consider 1GB to be 1000mb not 1024mb

also just for information if you cannot see your balance via your online account then you can dial *1260#

Im about half way thru my 30gb with no apparent slowdown - although it was 3G to start with

also on checking the T&C I see that it states :

Calling minutes (national and international), texts and data used outside of the bundle allowances will be charged at standard rates.

So if you go over 30GB Im guessing they charge you extra at 1p per mb (since thats the rate they use on he £300 bundle balance)

Still not entirely sure if they will allow you to go past 30gb initially before they try to charge your payment card for the extra data used or if they try to charge your payment card before they allow you to use any extra data if auto topup is turned on

obviously thats important for me as they can't charge my 'no funds' virtual card so I don't want to be left in a situation where I owe them money for some extra data & they get nasty & pass it to a debt collection agency

Finally another annoying 'glitch' is that I cannot turn off 'auto topup' via my online account (this is turned on by default) - possibly I need to turn off the bundle auto renewal first ? - but Im not risking doing that until around the 8th when Im back home & can start using my landline BB again

Again its not a big issue for me personally since any attempt at an auto top up will fail

Well, 1GB is supposed to be 1000MB these days (actually since 1998). If a writer wants to denote 1024MB they are supposed to use 1GiB.
In 1998 the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) published standards for binary prefixes, requiring that the gigabyte strictly denote 10003 bytes and gibibyte denote 10243 bytes. By the end of 2007, the IEC Standard had been adopted by the IEEE, EU, and NIST, and in 2009 it was incorporated in the International System of Quantities. Nevertheless, the term gigabyte continues to be widely used with the following two different meanings:

    Decimal definition

    1 GB = 1000000000 bytes (= 10003 B = 109 B)
Based on powers of 10, this definition uses the prefix giga- as defined in the International System of Units (SI). This is the recommended definition by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).[2] This definition is used in networking contexts and most storage media, particularly hard drives, flash-based storage,[3][4] and DVDs, and is also consistent with the other uses of the SI prefix in computing, such as CPU clock speeds or measures of performance. The file manager of Mac OS X version 10.6 and later versions are a notable example of this usage in software, which report files sizes in decimal units.[5]

    Binary definition

    1 GiB = 1073741824 bytes (= 10243 B = 230 B).
The binary definition uses powers of the base 2, as does the architectural principle of binary computers. This usage is widely promulgated by some operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows in reference to computer memory (e.g., RAM). This definition is synonymous with the unambiguous unit gibibyte.
