FYI : it possible in the past day or so my speed might have been throttled as i now seem to be getting only around 0.5 Mbps or less as opposed to the original 2 to 5 Mbps

Either that or its a temporary issue

If its throttling I still got over 15GB unthrottled at 3G speed on the vectone SIM
    - Ive used around 19GB as of today, 99% of which is via tethering

Also just to clarify the £7.50 i paid was for the first month only - £15 after that
    - however I dont plan on using these sims for more than 1 month at a time - will just order a new £7.50 sim each time Im away from home & my LL BB

I had mine yesterday, just way too busy to change, activate and deal with ATM... also, load remains to use up on old EE

    £7.50 deal has been pulled, so... you'll be ripped off, as I am :P 30GB- £10 :D

Do you mean the Vectone offer linked by Kernel Sanders? If so, where did you see it guaranteeing no restrictions?

    Clicking his link at https://www.vectonemobile.co.uk/bundles/uk-plans
takes you to the page of UK plans.

    The £10 offer says:
Use of any of Vectone Mobile services requires acceptance of Vectone Mobile Standard Terms and Conditions found at https://www.vectonemobile.co.uk/terms-and-conditions

And the T&C's it leads to says the following:
UK Plan is valid for calls from the UK to standard international landline and mobile numbers only and for customers with the UK & International Savers (plan prices may change from time to time subject to promotional offers).

Note that promotional credit (credit which Vectone mobile has given to customers for free) cannot be used for the offer. The offer is for non-commercial, private, personal use only Vectone mobile reserves the right to withdraw or suspend the offer or to disconnect you if we suspect that offer is being used for commercial purposes, for conferencing, or if it is not being used in a handset (in a SIM box for example), or if it is being used for tethering.

Fair usage policy: In order to avoid fraudulent and/or commercial misuse, SMS usage is subject to a fair use policy of 100 SMS per day. Once your usage reaches this amount, your SMS feature will get blocked and you will need to contact our Customer Service Team to justify your usage and get it unblocked.

Vectone mobile reserves the right to replace or amend the offer or change rates or these Terms & Conditions or to withdraw the offer at any time on reasonable notice.

    So plenty of restrictions there...

Or are you not referring to the 30GB £10 Vectone offer anymore?

Pretty sure Im throttled now & its not a glitch - however my speed did increase late last night & into the early hours so maybe its only throttled during peak times

I'd be surprised if different plans had different throttling

Watch out for throttling after you've used around half your data

Possibly theres also a time based element to when throttling gets added eg the system periodically checks your usage & if you've hit a certain data usage limit then you get throttled (i.e. it doesnt get added immediately you hit the limit) - that would explain previous reports of throttling after 10GB i.e. I managed to use another 5GB before the system caught up

Be interested to see if same thing happens to you

As I will be ordering a new sim each time Im away from home then I should at least be able to get a perod of time where I dont get throttled, 0.2 to 0.5 Mbps isnt much fun

thankfully no tethering block so can live with it

also of note is that the ebay EE sims have come down in price eg
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EE-4G-Trio-SIM-Card-Preloaded-With-10GB-DATA-10-CREDIT-Valid-for-30-Days/152937023394?hash=item239bc1c7a2:g:0mQAAOSwVlVaGcM5

    edit 10/3/18 :

the £7.50 deal is back again today for whatever reason ie

That's the feeling I get, that they DO, exactly that, my worry, is that they keep on changing and swapping everything without any regard to user
On the top of that, most-all main networks (EE in this case) do that to their MVNO's- as I had to experience with Giff-Gaff, binned their card, as data was unbearable, impossible worse than slowish O2 speed.

For now, I can report, they are a tad slower, than EE on 4G!!!! yes, I've had hard time setting up, fed up, set everything on Vectone 4G, mundio or something and it works, however, without having it left on automatic, reception is "choppy" least to say

not sure, if I could be bothered, to go back to them ;)

Not a fan of such karate chops of a business practice .

    My feedback on using Vectone
system is poor in every single respect
For starters British Code (+44) or locally used (0) for all purposes on vectone (44)... I'm dumbstruck by this "invention"

Data counter unavailable, however in allowances section- figures are truly confusing (in red)

(had bit of a "fear", they'll start my plan on the date of order/purchase, but no- 08/03/18, as I first inserted it)

so far- works not too bad, will turn Data Provider back to default- automatic in settings, will see, how it'll go, but pennies for value- OK'ish deal... (so far!!!!) :)

    Yup, that counter definitely works!
(shocked to have used THAT much already), also it seems to represent
    ~100kb units????

    22.787.5 remaining...:o

if you dial *1260# then IIRC the units left are shown in mb

you also might want to see if you can turn off auto top-up on your account because it wont let me on my account

my understanding is that if you turn off auto topup then you cant be auto charged if you go past 30GB because according to a customer support monkey grinder the data charges have to come out of credit on your account

IF to un-click amount - there's no option to activate or deactivate auto-top-up... so seems fair!
You taken up the deal of £7.50 for a first month and £15 there-after, and in accordance to their (additional) throttling down terms...

I get options, in accordance to what I agreed on and can stop auto-top-up, only get throttled down by actual EE network (in accordance to their "policies£ of prioritising MVNO's clients...

Pickle I have remaining, will I get my £15 credit, once my number will be ported over (on Wed), as advertised for doing so. If not, I'll complain, if yes, that'll be 30gb+30gb + another fiver for a third month to be steal of a deal for a tenner! :money:

The T&Cs there clearly state (in no. 26) that tethering a phone to a laptop or use in a mi-fi device is prohibited.
A completely pointless restriction, which has cost them my business. I mean, if the point of it is to limit data usage, why the hell are they offering 30GB of it for £7.50?
