Hi all,
I've been slow on the updates. not much to report apart from some excessive spending at the diamonds household. As we don't plan to move and upsize from our home. Mainly as minidiamonds schooling means it would be financially a massive stretch unless we took out another large mortgage one we pay this one off, I'm working hard to try and furnish our hoem and make it more my forever home.
its not massive spending but it is spending none the less.
So far I've ordered:
a dumroo rug
TV stand/unit (solid wood)
console Table
so that has set us back £385
plus DD birthday present £70
Joint Christmas present for the kids-£100 (large trampoline so hopefully get years of use)
Still need to order:- Curtains for the living room (currently using the old owners curtains which have seen better days)
- DS birthday present- no idea what to get him, he turns 2 a week before xmas so don't think he needs anything huge as he will get plenty from the rest of the family/friends
- Mirror for above fireplace for living room-this isn't urgent but i want something specific so keeping my eyes out in case i can find it cheaper than the £195 in Next
ATB - I am back at work now
Found it overwhelming last week when I went back and I am still exhausted but I felt like I didn't have much choice.
Thank you for asking about DS- He hasn't had another scare but sometimes when he stares at something a little while I do panic, thankfully it seems to be paranoid parent syndrome. HE does have is hospital appointment in 3 weeks. I didn't manage to go private in the end.

Hi Diamonds
That's a great OP well done you. Is that the most you will be making out of savings now, or is there potentially more in the savings pot you could use to OP?
I hope you manage to get some RnR this weekend from work xxMFW

Hi all,
Been a spendy weekend as we took the kids to the science museum yesterday and although its free to get in we paid £10 donation, lunch and the (mandatory) gift shop visit. both mini diamonds loved it though so definitely worth it.
Hi ATB i hope you are well. glad to hear of your great savings and Air bnb success. We won't be making any other large OP using savings. The grandparents that gifted the money to the kids still have to collate some of the money from various accounts but I think it will be a few months before receive the last amounts of this (about £10k) but we need to pay back the minidiamond school fund first. I used £6k towards an op last week as next terms fees aren't due until January so I borrowed it.
I does mean that we are going to try and get to £100k by 31 December 2015. Thats about £8k in 6 weeks. Luckily Christmas presents have been bought and I have the money set aside for our festive break so we just need to keep the spends down until new year and do ALOT of surveys :rotfl:1.7.15: £157,469.64, 10.02.16: £93,434.74

Hi all,
So i've been busy spending money for christmas and birthday gifts for nephews/nieces and the mini-diamonds. NOT very MFW at all.
Quick update:
We have £6400 to get into the £100ks and it was looking impossible to achieve this, until my accountant sent me the cheque for tax rebate of the limited company. After accountant fees and the remaining balance in the company accounts that i can withdraw before he closes the company, we will have around £3800 to pay towards an OP.
Still need to find £2600 from somewhere before 31st December... I'm off to dig down behind my sofa :rotfl:
We might just re-jig savings accounts to make it to our target or use some MSc money
Also DS had an ECG last week and we haven't had the results yet but I haven't heard anything from the consultant so I think its all clear. He has his EEG text next week but no seizures since the first one so i'm optimistic. Although he does stare off into space alot.
Have a great weekend all xx1.7.15: £157,469.64, 10.02.16: £93,434.74

Thanks Selloptape, I can't believe we only began our MFW journey in July this year.We have been lucky to have been gifted alot of money. At times its felt so so daunting to make the decisions to use savings etc for OP but its been the right one for us. Now we've exhausted our savings the OP will be slow and steady.
But we are just as determined as before and I hope being below £100k will be a big boost to the efforts.
