I've responded to boss in a polite professional manner explaining why it's not feasible for me to get 3 trains and a 20 minute walk to office and home each. I am so worried I'll get dismissed. I'd have good grounds of unfair dismissal but I'll risk ruining my career. I'm not sure I did the right thing but felt I had to stand up for myself.
Car will cost £500+ to repair but it might not be done by Monday.. let's see.1.7.15: £157,469.64, 10.02.16: £93,434.74

Inflexible / inhuman bosses are the worst - I'm sure you have done the right thing! You could always check in with HR too if you know someone with a sympathetic ear there, just to get their thoughts on whether your boss has been unreasonable
also helps to head off any misrepresentation of the situation by your boss!
Any response so far to the politely worded email?!0 -
Hi Diamonds honey i'm in a rush but simply couldn't read and run. Your boss sounds like a tw*t. Unless there are significant business reasons why you WFH isn't feasible in situations such as this he is talking twaddle and, should he dismiss you, a tribunal would be sure to find in your favour. What about when the mini-Ds are older and one of them needs collecting from school early due to illness, would he allow you not to work from home in that situation? Madness.
Whatever happens, it wont be the end of your career lovey. My old boss was an absolutely vile man who destroyed my confidence and it resulted in me packing it in when I had kids. However, I have since set up my own firm doing the same type of work but on my terms and with my ethics. Never looked back. Self-employment is always an option for you. chin up sweetie.. xxMFW

Diamonds I imagine that now you've stood up for yourself he'll get back in his box! Sorry I've not replied earlier to sure how I missed you diary in my list of reads. Mrs SJ is doing well, baby is obviously very comfortable where she is and shows no sign of a grand entrance. I expect it'll happy when the snow comes or the car is frozen solid as a typical woman generally chooses...!!!....!!!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Hi SJ, I'm sure you might be right. Baby just wants to make a grand entrance
So boss woman has responded and managed to turn the situation around on me. Apparently as I have said my disability doesn't impair me she's taken that literally to mean I have no issues. She's smart enough to cover herself here.
She's been with me on trains on my first day at work when the team all went to a tourist attraction in the city. I asked HER for help and she even commented on how it must be a stuggle at times. She's also commented in the past I should park my car in a closer parking space to building if needed at work.
Anyway thanks all for the support. As you all have said I've stood up for myself. I've never brought my mobility up in work situations so it's been daunting.
Needless to say I'll be job hunting come April or May this year so I get 12 months under my belt.
On money news

Back in the office today, MD isn't in today or tomorrow, thankfully. Although I have my performance review with her on Wednesday...That is going to be a pain 2 hours but hopefully I've passed probation, if I haven't I will definitely want to know why as my performance hasn't been an issue in the past 20+ 1:1 I've had since starting my role.
On money news, I'm out of spends but payday isn't for another week yet. Small spend on sandwich lunch for my half day at the library on Saturday. Sunday wasn't too productive. Must try harder to study.
£17 panelb4se payment should hopefully arrive by the end of the week. Unlikely to make additional OP this month after a shocking water bill and car payments.
With regards to water bill, provider suggested there could be leak but meter didnt seem to be moving fast so not sure. Wonder how much it would cost to get a plumber to check? I hate calling plumbers/electricians, I have a fear I'm going to be massively overcharged for some trival job. Still trying to convince DH to take up a plumbing or electrician course at weekends, its more useful than his photography hobby :rotfl:1.7.15: £157,469.64, 10.02.16: £93,434.74
