I assume so, I am going away soon and they are trying to get it to me before I go. They didnt say anything about having to pay for it just that the card would be sent without a name on it and I could use it as normal. I guess this is something they can do as a last resort.
I haven't been offered a temp card but I would not accept it anyway because I doubt whether any retailer would aaccept payment with a no-name card.
On a related subject which I have been holding off on reporting because I thought it might be delayed: Unless it's been missed by three CRAs Revolut have not performed a fraud prevention check on my address. That I find highly suspicious in the light of for example Pockit card doing it as did several insurance companies when I compared through moneysupermarket.com.
Overall, I think Revolut should have got their act together before they launched the card. Now is virtually too late! Looks like several other Fintech launches are doing a lot better.0 -
Academic now: I withdrew my funds and closed the account.0

Small revision to this: I attempted to withdraw funds and close the account. Looks like both are delayed lol No appearance of my funds in my bank account yet so I'm assuming they're not using Faster Payments. Account is still open as far as I can see.0 -

Took 7 working days to show up in my account - I then used the messaging the system to request account closure - I didn't seem to get much of an acknowledgement - I went back to the app after to check for a response and couldn't log in, so I assume that's my account terminated. No email confirmation etc.0 -

Yes, I'm expecting 4 days not including the day the transfer is initiated and the day it's credited to my account. Kinda slow these days though. Withdrawals this week from RCI Bank and Newcastle Building Society were applied to my bank account the next day.
I have heard from Revolut and my account is now deleted which is good.0 -
Really excited by this product. I have a Halifax Clarity credit card which I've used for most of my non-GBP cash withdrawal and card based transaction needs for several years and that is a great product. However I've always ended up paying a few £'s in interest as a result of the cash I've withdrawn and interest being charged from day one, so I'm hoping to eventually switch all my cash withdrawal needs to Revolut.
I downloaded the app last week and it is clean and tidy. Verifying my account worked at the second time of asking (needed manual intervention which I'll blame on having recently acquired a beard which I didn't have in my ID photos). Loaded £50 very easily and inadvertently made a few pennies whilst turning into EUR and USD and back. The in app chat support quickly answered my questions about how non-GBP/EUR/USD transactions would be allocated to my card balances. I've put a few USD transactions against a GBP balance on the card and these worked, and the FX rate was indeed perfect. I tried withdrawing a sum back to my bank account and it worked as it should. Looking forward to receiving the physical card and taking it skiing to Austria in January.
Some of the negativity in this thread blows my mind. This is a company offering a product which can legitimately be called cutting edge. It is in all our interest as consumers that they succeed and flourish. They are well capitalised with a number of pretty serious investors behind them. They aren't trying to steal your money, and technical issues and such growing pains seem pretty inevitable. If at short notice prior to travelling you've suddenly decided that a start-up is the single answer to all your currency needs then more fool you. For the rest of us, there is more than enough here for us to support and encourage.0 -
Some are just of a nervous disposition and too old to change.0

Well put Tednol. Everything is relative. Those of us (in the majority) who, with a little perseverance sometimes, have experience of actually using the product realise its true potential and value. Overall, nothing beats it.Evolution, not revolution0
