Tie her up and throw her in a river. If she drowns then she is innocent ...

Never had anything pinched by a cleaner that I'm aware of, but I did once end up with a massive phone bill as a result ... and she was crap too.
;68753730]I'm merely stating a fact. If you read it again, I will try to explain.
Its not accusing my cleaner, its stating that I'm sure other people have had their cleaner steal from in the past, and people will continue to do so in the future. Its a possibility at this point that my cleaner is guilty - nothing more.

Hope that clears it up for you.
I am willing to bet that more people have had stuff stolen by family and 'friends' and acquaintances than cleaners.

I would imagine she's sick to the back teeth of unreasonable, nightmare, employers. (Or, at least one.)

She's clearly hacked off with working for someone who has no respect for cleaners and, not only finds fault at every opportunity, but posts details of the supposed faults all over a public website.

She's obviously decided to go home to find a bit of sanity and she goes with my best wishes and sympathy.

Agree with the above post. The woman has probably left because she is not stupid and she can probably detect that the OP is suspicious of her, and has maybe even heard him accusing her of theft. Hopefully she get a nicer employer next time. Poor girl.

Why does anyone even have a cleaner? LOL. Even if I became rich/if I won the lottery, I would still do my own cleaning! Having a cleaner seems so pretentious.
Proud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!

You're not singing anymore........ You're not singing any-more! :D

Because my wife is disabled. And I work long hours....

Whys it pretentious? If I can afford it and don't have enough time it makes perfect sense surely. Surely you could say the same about buying a dishwasher? Don't tell me :-)

Also I'm self employed so to speak. Cleaner costs £12 an hour. A proper cleaner can do much more in an hour than I can (because Im crap) so it would probably take me 2 hours what they can do in 1. Which takes it to about £6 per hour of my time. Not worth it when I can be doing something Im better at for more money.

And also if everyone thought like you, then there'd be no employment for domestic cleaners...

When you are in school until around 5, eat and have some family time until around 7.30, then start marking English essays, you need a cleaner.

When I didn't have a cleaner I skeet ages tidying up before starting to clean, all on Saturday. With a cleaner, the kids tidied up and the cleaner cleaned and I stayed sane. :)

What's pretentious in that? I didn't go round boasting that I had a cleaner.

I was agreeing with you up to the last paragraph - I'd love to have a cleaner!

my niece works for the probation service with very serious criminals ( including murderers, rapists etc)
she works two days a week for the PS and then two days a week as a cleaner for some elderly gentlemen
she earns around £9 per hour in the probation service and £10 an hour cleaning
she LOVES cleaning - does NOT think of it as a demeaning role and gets more satisfaction from her little job as she calls it than her "proper job"
i wish she live closer than 150 miles from me - I;d pay her £10 an hour to clean my house :)

I wouldn't criticise anyone who hires a cleaner, as you not only create a job but you also have earned that right (unless you win the lottery, in which case you haven't earned the right BUT you might as well splash out). BUT I *MAY* be inclined to do my own cleaning if I were rich, because I don't like relying on other people when it is not necessary. Similar thing with bars and floor walking staff, I hate relying on (typically) young and attractive girls running round after me by getting drinks delivered to me as apposed to going the bar and ordering one!

When my Sister, a Headmistress, employed a cleaner, my niece said to me "Having a cleaner has ruined my life as Mum makes me clean my room every week in case she talks about us to people who know us and says we are scruffy."
