I think you were really angry when your dad opened his mouth and the latter really inflame the situation. Remember, it is SO nice for your mum to lend you money and vice versa. Not a lot of parent(s) are willing or able to do that. Talk it through. Say exactly what you think: you were more keen to keep dad happy than defending me.0

For whatever reason, the OP's Father does not like her borrowing money from them.
Her Mum is therefore put in a not nice piggy-in-the-middle situation by being asked to lend the OP money - for something that turns out wasn't really needed - even though the OP's Dad doesn't like this.0
