That's if they pay up, I had to chase mine with calls and a complaint letter, it was paid 2 months later. Hubby still waiting on his complaint letter response and his completed same month as mine.

I am amazed that the Quidco and TCB deals didn't have any restriction regarding one cashback payment per customer (last time I checked anyway). Big oversight really.
Why should they? It's the merchants who pay for the cashback, and TCB get a cut of each one.

I think you misinterpreted what I said. Obviously there's no incentive for Quidco or TCB to enforce such a thing, I'm just surprised Nationwide doesn't.

i have found them to be incredibly poor at making these payments too, along with generally poor CS and a complaints procedure based around monthly holding letters and branch staff that are trained to avoid answering questions.

Yes, they said they aimed to resolve DH's complaint by 1st Nov, but still not heard anything.
I've complained again today by secure message, wonder if that will make them respond.. probably not. Very shoddy service.

i was in-branch on friday and got a member of staff to pull up file on the screen. the list of holding letters, a month apart, is farcical.
they have tried to say that most complaints are dealt with fully within 2-5days, but if they go beyond that they are "serious" and "need to be taken very seriously" and so can take several months. no thanks, just pay me the money as per the terms. ta. ;)

Am I imagining things or has the condition that the person being recommended must switch within 90 days of being recommended only just been added to the RAF T&C as don't recall this when I was going through the process a couple of weeks back. I assume that if the 90 day period is going to run out before your friend is ready you can just renew it by filling out the form again and submitting (though not checked this with NW).
  • Can anyone help me please? I want to refer a friend but can't find anything on the Nationwide page to say how I actually obtain the email from Nationwide which I then email to a friend?

Is there a link to Nationwide to supply the name, DOB and email address for them to then send me the email?

    http://www.nationwide.co.uk/products/current-accounts/landing-page/recommend-a-friend

Normally it appears in your offer area on internet banking or when you exit the internet banking. It also appears when you search recommend a friend on Nationwide main page.

    Direct link here...

    https://portal.nationet.com/nationwide/appforms/recommendafriend/default.aspx
(can also be accessed from starM's link above)

Your friend won't necessarily need the email forwarding (assuming they've read the T&Cs and know what they're doing!), but they should at least wait until you've received it before applying to ensure Nationwide have 'linked' you on their systems. The confirmation email from Nationwide normally arrives next working day.
