    Hi,

We're looking at trying DLP for the first time in March,
    so would appreciate any help.

Who: 2 Adults/1 Child - My wife, son (aged 4) and I (all in one room)
    Transport: Eurostar - Ashford
    When: March 27-29 (2 nights/3 days)

Any good deals at the moment ?

    Especially with the Eurostar ?

Many thanks in advance for any advice

Eurostar is generally cheapest if you book direct, and those dates have already been on sale since the end of summer last year so the cheapest fares may have already gone. I'd check the prices of that first, on the Eurostar site.

there are no great deals for DLP hotels are the moment, but I'd imagine Disney will come out with another offer in the next week or so, which might include your dates. So I'd wait and see what comes up, before considering offsite and separate park tickets.

    Hi,
Just had news of the other half that we are going to a wedding in Paris on the 2nd of March. So, on the 3rd we have a free day - what better way to spend it than at DLP!

Ok, so we only have a day :-( BUT we can always get a feel of the place and return again :-) I have found day passes with travelrepublic which are reasonable £87? Is this about right???

We are going over by ferry, so no probs there re to n from airport. The Kyriad was cheapest, followed by Explorers and Dream Castle & Magic Circus the same. I may pay the £25 difference for Explorers as will use the pool on the Monday before heading home. The reviews for Kyriad and Explorers are mixed - does anybody have an opinion on either?

Now, we only have a day, so think it's best to stick to 1 park. For a 7 year old girl am I right in thinking the Disneyland Park is better? I have had a look at the lay out of the park (wish I could find a map to do a plan of attack)! Any advice on how to tackle the park or where is better to start/finish for the parades etc...?

Finally, food? Where is best to eat in the park?

Sorry for all the questions but really want to make the most out of the day and get best value at same time. I have no doubt we will return for a longer stay but this is better than nothing! :-)

Also, if you stay at an onsite hotel booked through say travelrepublic or somewhere similar and you buy tickets separate can you enter the park with the rest of the hotel guests early or would you be restricted? I hope that makes sense.

how many people is that for? there is a fabulous sale on one-day park tickets (print at home) for only 35 euros each here -

I've stayed at the Explorers - fabulous hotel with a young child in my opinion :).

yes, definitely the Disneyland Park. It will be busy if you are there on a Sunday, so you really only will get a feel for it in one day, as you'll be queuing for the majority of the rides all day. DLRPMagic has maps and breaks down the park into kids rides, attractions etc, it will give you some good ideas. Use fastpass as much as you can, and get there for 9.30am. The parade route is quietest up in Fantasyland, up near the turrets (you'll see them once you're inside the park). Then you'll need to be further down near the Castle to see Dreams at park closing time (do not miss this, even if you are dead on your feet, its amazing).

Finally, food? Where is best to eat in the park?

everywhere will be busy on a Sunday, so book a table or buffet service meal in advance. If you have a big lunch then you'll just need something light later on, which you can grab after the parade or before Dreams. Walts or Plaza Gardens would be good for lunch.

definitely better than nothing :) - and remember, a weekend day at DLP is not like midweek (if you feel that its really busy - honestly its a completely different story midweek when there are no French/English school holidays).

if you book room only for a Dinsey onsite hotel, it doesn't matter who you book it through, you get Extra Magic Hours :).

The tickets were for 1 adult and 1 child through travelrepublic... :-( So not that great then?

Oh excellent news re the onsite hotel. OH has just informed me that the DLP day will be either the Monday (4th) or Tuesday (5th), but likely to be the 5th. (long story but we will be going to DLP without him and meeting the following day - suits me ;-), DLP is so not his thing)!

I had another brain wave - IF I booked th 1 night in an onsite hotel through the website (£187) and incl tickets COULD I book the other nights we needed at same hotel minus the tickets via say booking.com? If it is possible and you do a night at a DLP hotel which day to you use the pass for or is it up to you?

Just nailing down the logistics but great news we will go on the Monday. I went to Florida in my 20's and loved Magic Kingdom :-)

Thank you so much for the tips re the shows.x

We stayed in the Dream Castle and loved it. Very clean, helpful staff and great room. We took croissants, pain au chocolat, yoghurts and muffins from the breakfast buffet and had them for lunch.
Eating on the actual park was expensive and most of the restaurants were the same. Pasta and pizza was most reasonable but not great quality food for the price charged. (The pasta was served in a cardboard box!). Best place to eat, where the kids were happy, was McDonalds in the Disney village ust outside the park. Prices were slightly higher than here, but still reasonable and you knew what you were getting.
I would say definitely go for the main disney park. Much more of the pretty Disney with the castle etc. and classic characters. Studios had more of the Chicken Little, Cars, Incredibles type stuff.
Hope that helps! We went 5 years ago and loved it, Would like to take our youngest daughter (now 5) soon, but cost prevents us ths year.
    Enjoy!

At the moment I can't decide between the offsite hotel and the possible onsite option. Our dates will be the 1st March (arriving late), 2nd wedding, 3rd (day out), 4th (DLP) and 5th (HOME)... But just need 1 day's entry for the 4th.

Food - Will I still need to book in advance on a Monday?
Fastpasses - Will I still need these?

I cannot thank you enough for all this information, it is fantastic.

okay, on a weekday the flash sale tickets I gave you the link for are only 30 euros per person :). Now, it will still be busy that week, because its Parisien schools holidays, but it won't be as busy as Sunday would have been.

Personally, I wouldn't pay what is essentially £140 a night for an onsite hotel (£187 minus the 60 euros your tickets would be if you bought them in the sale). Surely the Explorers or the Kyriad is a lot cheaper than that? However, if you decide to do that, your park tickets are actually for 2 days, all of the day you arrive to check in, plus all of your check-out day.

You can add room-only at the onsite hotels through various agents, but then you would need to call Disney with all the booking numbers and ask them if you can have the same room at the hotel for all your bookings.

Again though, you will pay a premium to stay onsite, room only or with tickets, if you're only going to be in the parks on one day, I'm not sure its worth the premium.

where is the wedding? I mean, is it near DLP? It might be better to book a hotel closer to the wedding venue for your first 2 nights, then head for your DLP hotel on 3rd.

You will need fastpass - its not going to be quiet.
