I have not booked the Cheyenne as yet, the reviews are putting me off... Did you stay here? And what did you think? I guess it is 2* afterall and just wanting to be in the park as early as possible I guess. It's coming in at £132 for 2 nights.

Where can we go on the Sunday in the park as we will only have passes for the Monday?

    Thank you. :-)

I stayed there last March with my mum and daughter, it was fine and I wouldn't hesitate to go back, the rooms were clean and there wasn't any any out of the ordinary noise.

We were a reasonable distance away from reception, perhaps that's why it wasn't noisy? What noise were the reviews moaning about.

    Hello,
I think it was the cleanliness and noise, but you never know until tried and it's only for 2 nights.

We will be arriving about lunch time. I really want to do a character dinner and was thinking the Auberge on the Monday. But was thinking of dinner at the chuck waggon on the Sunday... Just wondering any tips on how to fill the time.

theres nothing wrong with contacting the hotel before you go, to ask for a nice quiet room.

great timing for the Sunday :). As I said before, theres loads to see in the Village, plus on Sunday afternoon at either 4pm or 5pm (I'm not 100% sure what time it is at the moment) they have a character meet n greet in the foyer at the Disneyland Hotel. This is open to non-guests of the hotel (as are all the onsite hotels public areas) and its usually a much quieter way of meeting half a dozen characters, without having to go into the park. Its lovely to see, and I'd recommend doing that on the Sunday afternoon. You could do afternoon tea there too if you wanted to, visit the gift shop etc (its really lovely wandering through the public areas of the Disneyland Hotel).

To reach the Disneyland Hotel, when you get off the shuttle bus from the Cheyenne, walk to the security entrance of the parks, through security, and just before you reach the big pink palace (ie the Disneyland Hotel) at the entrance to the main park, walk to your right, and on your right-hand side you will see a set of white revolving doors. This is the entrance to the Disneyland Hotel.

Don't know the bad reviews were just on trip adviser etc... But I could call ahead as suggested.

I'm trying to write all these fantastic tips down to make the most of the day. The dlrp website is great too. Is there a limit to the amount of fastpasses you can get? I am checking out the rides and trying to figure which are a must for us!

I'm going to book the hotel now... :-)

good - get it booked :). The thing with any hotel in any resort is, if for whatever reason guests aren't happy with the resort, they will find something to complain about the hotel too. DLP is expensive, and if people have paid full price for example, and then don't realise how expensive the resort is to eat and drink in, they complain.

The more you plan and research, the better time you will have at DLP.

The only limit on fastpass is this - you can only hold one fastpass at a time per park entry ticket, and you can't go get another one until at least the start of the timeslot on your existing fastpass ticket.

Yeah, I have booked it - £134 which was in my opinion not too bad through travelrepublic.

Ah, I see, I had not realised. I would not have paid the prices on the DLP site.

I had not realised that abbout the fastpasses. Thanks. I am trying to research but not much is going in! I am wondering if to stick to Fantasyland and maybe Discoveryland and do them properly - Oh decisions... :-)

Definately Fantasy Land, try and get near the castle for the parade- sit on the grass near the roundabout stage thing, on the slopes, then you will see the Princes and Princesses more clearly (at least this is how it happened when we were there). Pirates of the Caribbean Ride and it's A Small World are both must dos, as is Peter Pan. Thunder Mountain is a good family coaster, Phantom Manor, Alice in Wonderland Maze, Buzz Lightyear, Casey junior and the boat ride underneath. These are all must dos. Micky Mouse Cafe is good in the evening. Personally wasn't impressed by Buffalo Bill but lots of people love it to be fair.

Take some cash (if you can spare it) to buy her a Disney Princess outfit to wear at the park - choose it at the store when you get there. Souvenir at the start of the day instead of the end.

    Mostly, ENJOY:T

you'll have from 8am til 8pm in the main park on the Monday, won't you? If you do EMH from 8am til 10am you'll get 4 of the main rides in Fantasyland done then, plus 2 in Discoveryland. At age 7 your DD might love the Robinson family treehouse in Adventureland, Big Thunder Mountain (with fastpass) and possibly Phantom Manor in Frontierland.

The parks at DLP are compact, you can walk from one side to the other in about 10-15 minutes.

If you find, after 11am or so, thats its starting to get very busy on the rides and you're queueing longer than about 30 minutes for everything, I think with one day I'd concentrate on the EMH rides, in the bulk of the day rides with fastpass, the castle - an attraction in itself, it has a lovely glass/jewellry shop inside, a christmas shop, upstairs it has the Sleeping Beauty story in tapestries and stained glass (enchanting for a little one to see) and a balcony where you can see over the top of Fantasyland. Downstairs it has a dragon too :)! Theres the pirate ship in Adventureland which is a walk-on attraction too, and the Robinson family tree-house is kind of a vertical version of this. If you're planning on doing the Auberge de Cendrillon meal this would be at lunchtime, and you can take a couple of hours there. Theres also the Molly Brown paddlesteamer which takes trips around the lake in Frontierland.

Don't miss the main parade at 5pm, and Dreams will start at 8pm if the park closing time is 8pm. After the main parade at 5pm, the park does tend to get a little quieter, so from 6pm onwards might be a good time to back and do some of your favourite rides again :).

Ah thank you so much for the suggestions both of you. They are fantastic idead and I'm already getting a note pad full :-) I had not thought of that with the more popular rides with the emh. You guy's are amazing, like military precision :-)

After looking at the Auberge menu not sure we will be doing that and it will take a block of ride time. So maybe a snack somewhere and dinner after the park closes. BUT I am leaning towards your idea for the Disneyland Hotel characters and Cafe Mickey after on the Sunday night about 6.30pm ish (will I need to book ahead?) to get us in the mood with no need to rush off and feel like we are missing on something. Any suggestions for dinner on the Monday night? Is the chuck waggon ok (again, will I need to book ahead)?

It seams like it's all coming together now and I cannot thank you enough for your help. I'm going to take not of the rides suggested. Is there anywhere I can get a map from? The on on dlp site is all upside down, bit odd really!

My daughter does not seam excited, but I am ;-)

I have a park map you could have - I brought it home from our last trip, so its still accurate. If you pm me we can sort it out :).

If you don't want to take time out of your Monday park day for dinner, then yes, I'd do Cafe Mickey in the early evening on Sunday (book in advance) and the Chuck Wagon after the park closes on Monday evening (so that would be around 8.45pm before you are back at your hotel). Again, I'd book that in advance. The Disney dining reservations number is 0033 160 304050 (call a discount dial number first to get your call from your landline for less than 1p per minute).
